3 PARISH NEWS CHRISTMAS SEASON As this season s Christmas comes to an end, we say Thank You to everyone who played a part in rendering a Blessed Christmas here at Our Lady of the Rosary parish. The liturgies, the decorations, the contributions, the remembrances and every aspect of the Season brought about a most fitting tribute to the honor and glory of God. It is always rewarding to be a part of something so noble and to give such praise to God. Thank God for the blessing that you are for our parish. GET IN ON THE FUN The 2019 Lottery Calendar is available. Don t miss out on your opportunity to put some $$$ in your pockets. Complete a form that can be found on the bulletin boards in church and return it to the rectory or drop in Sunday s collection basket. Those who have already ordered their Calendars can pick them up in Mary s Chapel after Mass. FIRST HOLY COMMUNION CLASS There will be a meeting for all parents of the First Penance and First Holy Communion class on Thursday, January 17 th at 7:00 p.m. in the parish hall. Please mark your calendars and plan to attend. TEEN LIFE and JR. CYO The Teen Life and Jr. CYO groups will have a service project today Sunday, January 13 th with the PREP classes. Please meet in the hall at 8:30 a.m. Next Sunday, January 20 th, the Teen Life and Jr. CYO will have a fun day at the Bowling Palace in Downingtown. Please let Mrs. Masch know if you are interested in going. There will be no meeting on Sunday, January 27 th. PIZZA SOCIAL The Holy Name Society will host a Pizza Social on Saturday, January 26 th after the 5:00 p.m. Vigil Mass. All are invited to socialize with other families and members of the parish. The Holy Name Society s master chefs will be serving piping hot pizza along with a variety of cold and hot beverages. Come and enjoy the free pizza and friendship! EUCHARISTIC ADORATION Everyone is invited to join in the all-day Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament which is offered on the last Monday of each month. Our next Eucharistic Adoration will be held on Monday, January 28th. Come and spend some time before our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament! DEVOTIONS There will be no Monday Rosary, St. Jude Novena or Benediction during the month of January and February. The next Monday Rosary will be held on Monday, March 4 th at 6:00 p.m. to pray the Joyful Mysteries. All are welcome to join in the prayer. The Rosary is also recited at 4:30 p.m. on all Saturday evenings before the Vigil Mass at 5:00 p.m.

Ash Wednesday, March 6 th will begin the Lenten Season. Mass will be held at 7:00 a.m., 12:15 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Daylight Savings Time will begin on Sunday, March 10 th. THANK YOU Father Ferrence was extremely happy with all the cards he received for Christmas and sends his thanks for thinking of him. He will keep you all in his daily prayers. GRACE NOTES Our Lady of the Rosary s Grace Notes is back. Rehearsals resume on Thursday nights from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m. in the church. The children s choir is open to all students in 1 st to 8 th grades. They sing on the first Sunday of the month at the 10:45 a.m. Mass. 5 CRAB CAKE SALE The Lady s Sodality is once again having a Crab Cake Sale! The sale starts this weekend and runs through Sunday, February 24 th. Pick up is Saturday, March 2 nd from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. in the church hall. Capt n Chucky s Crab Cake Company is supplying the crab cakes, crab critters and Maryland Crab soup. YOUNG ADULTS All young adults in their 20 s and 30 s are invited to join the Catholic Young Adults of Chester County for weekly meetings focusing on social, spiritual and community service. The next meeting will be held this Wednesday, January 16 th at 7:00 p.m. at the Downingtown Rock Gym. Whether you are completely new to rock climbing or you could scale a wall with your eyes closed and hands behind your back, this is sure to be a fun evening. Cost is $15 per person. DISCERNMENT RETREAT A Discernment Retreat will be held from 6:00 p.m. January 18 th to 1:00 p.m. January 20 th at the Villa Maria House of Studies in Malvern. Single young women ages are invited to experience a weekend retreat at the IHM Motherhouse with the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and novices. The weekend will be filled with prayer, spiritual conferences, meals and times of recreation with the sisters.
