What kind of response do you feel in your emotional body? Excitement that you can start fresh with a new year, clean slate, and do all the things that you didn t do in 2014? Or, do you look at the task with a sense of dread. After all, part of thinking about NEW resolutions is reviewing OLD resolutions that you made, and didn t achieve when 2014 came upon us. Statistics prove that January is consistently the most popular month to join the local gym, enroll in a diet program, or vow to clear all the clutter in your space, but as the year progresses, the sticking to it falls off and the guilt comes in. How about, this year, just be gentle to yourselves. I think everyone wants to achieve certain things in our lives. The most important part of this is being willing to receive it when it appears, and in order to do that we have to focus on being OPEN. Soften all those barriers How about trying this...don t make resolutions. Forget the defenses that we ve developed acting as barriers to receiving What s Up? our good. Soften those barriers, widen our tunnel vision. Relax..we don t have to DO anything, just be open to receive what s coming. And be aware...what s coming is just around the corner. Important month for the Library board... Each January the library has its annual election of board members and officers. Our library is a non-profit organization, run by volunteers. That means that all the tasks that need to happen to keep the library functioning involve individuals who are not receiving any financial compensation. What we do receive, however, can t be measured in dollars. To live harmoniously, we need to be supportive and helpful to all people on this physical plane part of being a good citizen of the world. After all, it s a big part of the reason we are here having the human experience...learning to work together. When we do something for others in service, without the expectation of anything in return, we are turning our actions into offerings. Please consider volunteering or even becoming a board member. It also amplifies the healing effects of all other stones, so it s a good idea to keep a quartz crystal with other stones. Desk Worker/Volunteer Coordinator We have an opening for a Desk Worker/Volunteer Coordinator that can work at the front desk assisting customers, checking out books, training other volunteers, filling in at times of need, etc. Perfect for someone with a flexible time schedule that believes in our mission. You will start out as a desk worker, training on a few Saturdays a month from noon to 4 pm. Other tasks are available to keep you busy. Meet interesting people in a unique place. Why you can t afford not to take the You Can Heal Your Life classes: Years ago while still living in Cleveland, OH I heard a speaker at my church, Edwene Gaines, give the talk. Edwene was also giving a workshop on Prosperity later that afternoon, which I attended. During the workshop Edwene was talking about the importance of tithing and one lady raised her hand and said, I can t afford to tithe. Edwene looked at her and said in her southern Alabama drawl, Honey, you can t afford OT to! That one statement has stayed with me my whole life one I will never forget. I became a tither (and still am to this day), went on to follow Edwene everywhere she spoke, and flew to Alabama to take one of her weeklong retreats, and walked on FIRE for the first time in After that trip, I booked an Alaskan cruise, bought a new car, and made plans to move to California. This leads me to the Louise Hay group where I first discovered Louise in the 1980s, and it literally changed my life. Then I created the opportunity and the cash to fly to California in 2001 and became certified to teach her work. I went back to Ohio and taught this group to hundreds for the next seven years before moving to California. If you re not living the life of your dreams, then why not? Are you holding on to limiting beliefs, are you stuck in a rut, overwhelmed, intimidated or fearful that you can t do or have what the Universe intended you to have? Quit making excuses and self-sabotaging yourself, and DECIDE to change all that right now. That s right. Until you commit, you re going to stay where you ve always been, and doing what you ve always done. If that works for you, then stop reading here. If, on the other hand, you want to get those voices out of your head that you heard growing up, or in your adult life, saying that you re not good enough, or smart enough or whatever negative beliefs you ve held on to, then make a decision. Get yourself out of the victim neighborhood, and into the land of infinite possibilities. Whatever stage you are on in this journey called life, step it up to another level. Can you honestly look in the mirror and tell yourself you love yourself without wincing? Your life is a mirror. What you see in that mirror you created. If you don t like what you see, then it s time to step out of your comfort zone and take a chance on YOU. This group will push your buttons, it will cause you to grow, it will move you out of your comfort zone, and it will not leave you where you are on day #1. If you want to love yourself and others more, heal your relationships and your pocketbook, then what ARE you waiting for? Your story can be re-written. Are you willing?
