It s the season of growth, the time of emerging buds, as seeds that were deep under the ground feel the warmth and the beckoning of the sun and push forth into the light. As we are all connected connected to nature as well as each other we too feel the surge of new beginnings in spring, a time to refresh and renew. Are you ready to spring forth into a new you, a renewal? I feel that way and hope you do too. Not time to be stagnant or stuck! You will find several opportunities to refresh and renew this month at the library. Start with creating a special, sacred space for yourself on Saturday, March 8 as we come together to build an altar that reflects our own intentions. We have ordered several items in the store to make it easy for you! Don t miss out on this opportunity. What s Up? Issue March 22 offers another method of manifesting our dreams, creating your heart s desires with a vision board. All the supplies you need will be available for you to create exactly what you want in your life. Finally, we end the month with settling all this new emerging energy that you have created by teaching you to balance your own individual energy field using crystals and stones. You will not only leave refreshed and aligned, but will learn how to do this at home. All the particular crystals and stones that you need will be available for purchase in a beautiful velvet pouch. 2 Page 2 Jewels, Bangles and Beads We ve added several pieces of jewelry to our collection and now that we have our new glass display pieces, it s even easier for you to check out the products. Wire-wrapped pieces using various stones are in stock as well as a variety of earrings and bracelets. What s particularly nice about selecting jewelry with stones is that the energy of that particular stone stays with you, surrounds you, and works with you the whole time that you are wearing it. AND you can touch and feel each piece to see which one is the one that wants to go home with you. Feel the connection in your selection! Singing Bowls, Buddhas and Ritual Candles In Tibetan Buddhist practice, singing bowls are used as a signal to begin and end periods of silent meditation. They are played by striking the rim of the bowl with a padded mallet but can also be played by the friction of rubbing a wood, plastic, or leather wrapped mallet around the rim of the bowl to emphasize the harmonic overtones and a continuous 'singing' sound. Consider having one of your own for meditation, music, relaxation, and personal well-being. We have them in stock. A very common Buddhist statue is that of the Meditation Buddha, the Buddha that has both hands resting face up in his lap. He is commonly seated with both of his ankles tucked in (Double Lotus). This statue signifies inner wisdom, emotional balance, and clarity. Come and visit Buddha in the store. He is holding a lotusshaped space for a tea light candle...a plus! He would be a perfect addition to your sacred space and really wants be a part of your home. For centuries, candles of different colors have been burned in rituals to attract desired emotions, material wealth, or karma and can be one of the most effective tools used for meditation, rituals and other ceremonies. We are now carrying small mini ritual candles as well as holders, another nice addition to your sacred space. With a relaxed, positive state of mind, burn the candle color that best influences your motivation and think about what you want to accomplish. Crystal Corner The Greenies Aventurine in ancient Greece, was sewn into the clothes of men going to war to preserve their courage and optimism. It is said to enhance the sense of humor and cheerfulness of its possessor. It helps pre-exam stress, so if you re currently a student, you NEED to carry a piece of aventurine with you when you have an exam. Aventurine has a beneficial effect on many skin irritations. Cover the stone with water, leave overnight, and then wash the skin and hair with it. This water can also be used to bathe strained eyes. Emotionally, it protects, calms and soothes emotions. It aids in relaxation and facilitates contact with spirit guides. Jade has been used and much sought after in China since 5000 BC, the Chinese finding that it was harder and more resistant than any other stone known at the time. Jade has blood-stanching properties, so women would wear a jade necklace during childbirth. It has a beneficial effect on all glandular functions, lowers fevers and has a detoxifying effect on the body by stimulating the kidneys. It symbolizes renewal and in Asia is still considered a lucky stone and frequently worn as an amulet. Jade water is often drunk first thing in the morning. Psychologically, it calms, counteracts prejudices and gives its possessor a sense of justice and contentment.
