The St. Anne s Parish is a diverse Roman Catholic community, which proclaims the good news of Jesus Christ by teaching, witness, prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. Mass Schedule: Weekend: Saturday Vigil - 4:30 PM Sunday - 7:30, 9:00, 10:30, 12:00 noon Weekdays and Holy Days: as announced in bulletin Reconciliation: Saturday - 3:15 to 4:00 PM PARISH MEMBERSHIP: Active parish membership is both necessary and helpful to all involved when seeking sponsorship certificates, Marriage or Baptism preparations. Please call the rectory to register or to report address or phone number changes. HOSPITAL VISITS: Please have someone notify the rectory when you or a family member is hospitalized. BAPTISM: Parents must attend a Baptism Prep Class before the Baptism of their child. Classes are held on Sunday in the months of Feb., Apr., Jun., Aug., Oct., and Dec., and Baptisms are held once a month. 3 Sixth Sunday of Easter Page Three Hearing Difficulties? For those in need of hearing assistance while in church, our new sound system has an integrated Assistive Listening Component. To make use of the assistive listening device, parishioners are welcome to sign out one the headsets that are available in the main vestibule. For hygienic purposes, users must bring their own earphones. The receivers accommodate standard headphone jacks. Please return the receiver pack after each Mass. Parish Night at Iron Pigs: Iron Pigs baseball game at Picnic Patio on Friday, June 1st. Cost is $28 per person and includes game and buffet supper. Gates open 5:45 PM, game starts 7:05. buffet is 6:00 to 8:30 PM. Helper s Pilgrimage: Please join the Helpers of God s Precious Infants at the prayer Pilgrimage for the unborn and all those involved in abortion. The pilgrimage on May 12th begins with Mass at 8:00 AM at Notre Dame Church of Bethlehem, and continues with the Rosary at the AWC abortion site located at 31 South Commerce Way in the Bethlehem Industrial Park. Please note: It is not necessary to go to the Abortion Center, you may remain in the church to pray the Rosary. You are cordially invited to attend the 10:30 Mass on June 3, There will be special recognition made of those present. You are invited to stay after Mass to share doughnuts and light refreshments with your parish family. Please mark your calendar and plan to join us for the Graduate Mass on June 3. A reservation form will be in the bulletin at a later date. Bishop s Annual Appeal: We are grateful to our parishioners who have already made a pledge to the Bishop s Annual Appeal. Making a six-month pledge to the Appeal allows you to maximize the amount that you may give by making monthly payments. For example, a $300 gift to the Appeal may be setup with six $50 installments. Your sacrifice and generosity to those who are less fortunate will allow the ministries of our diocese to offer services to those who need our assistance. Come get your car ready for the warm weather while supporting a good cause! BECAHI s developing Girls and Boys Lacrosse teams will be holding a combined car wash at the high school. 4 Page Four LOVE ONE ANOTHER In the Gospel for the Sixth Sunday of Easter we are met with an extraordinary challenge: Jesus commands us to love one another as I love you (John 15:12). The letter from John echoes this command. Of course, we are to love those in our family, those we work with, those we like. But the scriptures make clear that we are also to love those we never notice, those we purposely avoid, and even those we are tempted to despise. In this Sunday s selection from the Acts of the Apostles Peter shows us how far God s love extends, and how far our love should extend in response. Peter realizes that God no longer shows partiality to the Jews, sharing divine love exclusively with them. Christ has revealed that God s love extends to all people, and so should ours. Copyright J. Pray For One Another. Volunteers Needed: St. Anne s Church volunteers to serve lunches at the Salvation Army Soup Kitchen on the second Sunday of every month. It takes only two hours of your time and is very rewarding. You may only need to do this once or twice a year. Please contact Mary Boyle, for more information. Bible Study: Lovers of Scripture will be meeting on Sunday evening, May 20 at 6:30 PM in the rectory meeting room. Just bring your Bibles! Baptisms: Congratulations to the newly baptized members of our parish community; Noah Gawel, Oliver Kurylak, Hazel Lisk. May the Lord continue to shower you with His many blessings. St. Vincent de Paul Society: Meets every second Thursday of the month at 6:30 PM in the convent. Parishioners are welcome to visit a meeting! Members take part in the activities of their choice, including helpful visits to families and persons in need, or some of the services found below. All services need new helpers! Clothing Center: The Clothing Center is now accepting spring and summer clothing, footwear and linens. Food Project: Donate Food bins are located at four entrances of the church. Your donations of nonperishable food and toiletries will be distributed to those in need in our community. Help Wanted. To take these donations from the church to the convent pantry every 1st Sunday of the month. Please call Mary if interested Partnership with Share Care: Parish drivers provide rides for elderly and handicapped parishioners. New drivers are welcome! Need a ride? Requests must be made at least two week in advance. Call Share Care at , identify as a St. Anne s Parishioner. In Honor/In Memory of gift cards: Available in the rectory or at Washington Ave. exit of the church. Poor Box: The poor box has been revitalized and placed at the front entrance of the church. Your spare change and bills will help those in need in our community through the work of the St. Vincent de Paul Society. As always, thank you for your support. ANNE PROUD: Six 8 th grade students were named as Bishop Scholarship winners for the diocese of Allentown, and were guests at a special event with their families. Congratulations: Charles Carson, Joseph Duffy, Brett Fyrer, Emily Harclerode, Steven Recchio and Emma Smith. Our K Nex Building Team placed First among 28 other schools in the region for their project design and will compete at the PA state competition this month. The St. Anne School Academic Bowl Team is currently tied for first place an will compete for the championship with OLPH on in a few weeks. Good Luck to all!
