The St. Anne s Parish is a diverse Roman Catholic community, which proclaims the good news of Jesus Christ by teaching, witness, prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. Guided by Scripture and tradition, nourished by the Eucharist, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we are committed to evangelization, and compassionately serving the community s physical, spiritual and emotional needs. Mass Schedule: Weekend: Saturday Vigil - 4:30 PM Sunday - 7:30, 9:00, 10:30, 12:00 noon Weekdays and Holy Days: as announced in bulletin Reconciliation: Saturday - 3:15 to 4:00 PM PARISH MEMBERSHIP: Active parish membership is both necessary and helpful to all involved when seeking sponsorship certificates, Marriage or Baptism preparations. Please call the rectory to register or to report address or phone number changes. HOSPITAL VISITS: Please have someone notify the rectory when you or a family member is hospitalized. BAPTISM: Parents must attend a Baptism Prep Class before the Baptism of their child. Classes are held on Sunday in the months of Feb., Apr., Jun., Aug., Oct., and Dec., and Baptisms are held once a month. Adult Confirmation: Bishop Schlert will celebrate the Noon Mass on Pentecost Sunday, June 9th at the Cathedral of Saint Catharine of Siena, Allentown, within which he will confirm adults of our Diocese. Those to be confirmed are those adults (18 yrs. Or older) who were baptized in the Roma Catholic Church, received their First Holy Communion, are catechized, but never confirmed. RCIA: The RCIA process is a journey of faith: through the initial stages of asking and seeking; through beginning involvement with faithful Catholics; through hearing the Gospel proclaimed and by faithful reflection and prayer on the Word of God; through study and discussions about Catholic teaching and way of life; through a growing desire to serve and love others; through discernment of God s call to each human life; through the steps of commitment; through the sacraments of initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist). ). 4 Page Four MID-LENT CHECK-IN God says to Moses, This is what you shall tell the Israelites: I AM sent me to you... The L, the God of your [ancestors], the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, the God of Jacob (Exodus 3:14, 15). As Jesus would later say, God is not a God of the dead, but of the living, and so we believe that the dead will one day rise. At this midpoint of Lent, we pause to consider how our repentance is leading us to the Resurrection, to our reunion with the great I AM. Part of our repentance involves working to secure justice for all and helping our neighbor to live in God s ways. We encourage each other and nurture each other, like the compassionate gardener of today s Gospel, who tells the owner of the orchard that he will nurture the tree, fertilize it, and perhaps it will bear fruit. All services need new helpers! Clothing Center: The Clothing Center has resumed activities and is now collecting fall and winter clothing, shoes and linens. Please leave bagged items in the bin behind the convent building. Volunteers are welcome! Call Isabelle at Food Project: Donate Food bins are located at four entrances of the church. Your donations of nonperishable food and toiletries will be distributed to those in need in our community. Do not donate expired or perishable items. Partnership with Share Care: Parish drivers provide rides for elderly and handicapped parishioners. New drivers are welcome! Need a ride? Requests must be made at least two week in advance. Call Share Care at , identify as a St. Anne s Parishioner. In Honor/In Memory of gift cards: Available in the rectory or at Washington Ave. exit of the church. Poor Box: The poor box has been revitalized and placed at the Washington Ave. entrance of the church. Your spare change and bills will help those in need in our community through the work of the St. Vincent de Paul Society. As always, thank you for your support. Children s Word: will be held on Mar. 24th. at the 10:30 AM Mass. Children s Word is a celebration of the liturgy for all children 10 and under. Children s Word meets on the second and fourth Sundays of the month. We are looking for interested adults to help. Among her many talents, she was an excellent cook and was always the first to deliver a batch of cookies or casserole dinner to a new neighbor or someone coming home from the hospital or grieving the loss of a loved one. Her daughter, Ellen would like to continue this tradition. If, you would like to learn how you too can easily help your neighbors, join Ellen on Sunday, April 7th from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at St. Francis Center for Renewal.
