The St. Anne s Parish is a diverse Roman Catholic community, which proclaims the good news of Jesus Christ by teaching, witness, prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. Guided by Scripture and tradition, nourished by the Eucharist, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we are committed to evangelization, and compassionately serving the community s physical, spiritual and emotional needs. Mass Schedule: Weekend: Saturday Vigil - 4:30 PM Sunday - 7:30, 9:00, 10:30, 12:00 noon Weekdays and Holy Days: as announced in bulletin Reconciliation: Saturday - 3:15 to 4:00 PM PARISH MEMBERSHIP: Active parish membership is both necessary and helpful to all involved when seeking sponsorship certificates, Marriage or Baptism preparations. Please call the rectory to register or to report address or phone number changes. HOSPITAL VISITS: Please have someone notify the rectory when you or a family member is hospitalized. BAPTISM: Parents must attend a Baptism Prep Class before the Baptism of their child. Classes are held on Sunday in the months of Feb., Apr., Jun., Aug., Oct., and Dec., and Baptisms are held once a month. How richly blessed we are at St. Anne Church with parishioners who graciously share their precious gifts of time, talent and treasure in service to others. Thank you for participating in the active life of the parish. We encourage those who are yet to get involved to do so. There are many options and opportunities to choose from, no matter how limited you are on time. We make our parish as vibrant as we want it when we share our gifts. Pray without ceasing. - 1 Thessalonians 5:16 Parish Membership Requirements: We are often asked to verify that an individual is an active member of St. Anne s so that he or she may enter into a valid marriage, act as a sponsor for Confirmation, or stand as a godparent for Baptism. Please note that we can only verify active status if: 1. You are registered in the parish census database 2. you have some contribution record within the last three years. (This is often the only means of determining that one is attending Mass and, therefore, practicing the Faith) It is further requested that, when a household member reaches age 21, he or she should register separately as an adult member and have their on contribution record, even if still residing with parents. Please note also: to be approved a Baptism Godparent or Confirmation sponsor, one must be over 16, have received Confirmation and, if married, must be in a valid Catholic marriage (One witnessed by a Catholic Priest or Deacon, or with proper dispensation from the Bishop.) 4 Page Four MEMORIES AND DREAMS Throughout our lives, we retain the language and habits of our native region and family of origin. Should we return to our home after a long absence, we quickly revert to its familiar speech and practices. Our deep memory is reflected in old stories and words and speech patterns. This familiarity runs like an underground river and accompanies us wherever we go. Not only do we remember, we are incorporated into and made part of a greater memory. In remembering and recollecting, we are in turn gathered up and re-collected. Today we remember Mary, a small figure travelling the country roads to visit Elizabeth. All the great pronouncements and dreams of the prophets point to this time when the Lord s words to Mary would be gathered and fulfilled. St. Vincent de Paul Society: Meets every second Thursday of the month at 6:30 PM in the convent. Parishioners are welcome to visit a meeting! Members take part in the activities of their choice, including helpful visits to families and persons in need, or some of the services found below. All services need new helpers! Clothing Center: The Clothing Center has resumed activities and is now collecting fall and winter clothing, shoes and linens. Please leave bagged items in the bin behind the convent building. Volunteers are welcome! Call Isabelle at Food Project: Donate Food bins are located at four entrances of the church. Your donations of nonperishable food and toiletries will be distributed to those in need in our community. Do not donate expired or perishable items. Partnership with Share Care: Parish drivers provide rides for elderly and handicapped parishioners. New drivers are welcome! Need a ride? Requests must be made at least two week in advance. Call Share Care at , identify as a St. Anne s Parishioner. Family Matters: Christmas time - the true meaning: Jesus is the reason for the season. During this Christmas time commit yourself to sharing the true meaning of Christmas with your family. God shared fully his love by becoming Human. We too can share His love by being like Christ to one another. Pray For One Another. RCIA: The RCIA Team is thinking warmly of each of you.
