The St. Anne s Parish is a diverse Roman Catholic community, which proclaims the good news of Jesus Christ by teaching, witness, prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. Guided by Scripture and tradition, nourished by the Eucharist, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we are committed to evangelization, and compassionately serving the community s physical, spiritual and emotional needs. Mass Schedule: Weekend: Saturday Vigil - 4:30 PM Sunday - 7:30, 9:00, 10:30, 12:00 noon Weekdays and Holy Days: as announced in bulletin Reconciliation: Saturday - 3:15 to 4:00 PM Sunday - 8:15 AM PARISH MEMBERSHIP: Active parish membership is both necessary and helpful to all involved when seeking sponsorship certificates, Marriage or Baptism preparations. Please call the rectory to register or to report address or phone number changes. HOSPITAL VISITS: Please have someone notify the rectory when you or a family member is hospitalized. BAPTISM: Parents must attend a Baptism Prep Class before the Baptism of their child. Classes are held on Sunday in the months of Feb., Apr., Jun., Aug., Oct., and Dec., and Baptisms are held once a month. 3 First Sunday of Lent Page Three PEOPLE OF THE COVENANT If there is one word that stands out in today s readings, it is covenant. God s faithfulness and goodness serve as examples to us of how to live. Genesis tells the story of Noah and of God s covenant not only with all people, but with all of nature. Never will the cleansing waters of the flood bring their destructive power to all the earth again. The sign, the reminder to both God and nature, is the rainbow in the heavens. The psalm reminds us of this compassion of God, and begs God to remember us, not because of our goodness, but because of God s goodness and fidelity to the promise. Monthly Mass for Anointing of the Holy Spirit: The next Mass for Anointing of the Holy Spirit will be March 13th, 7:00 PM at St. Anne s Church. Mass will be celebrated by Fr. St. Vincent de Paul Society: Meets every second Thursday of the month at 7:00 PM in the convent. Parishioners are welcome to visit a meeting! Members take part in the activities of their choice, including helpful visits to families and persons in need, or some of the services found below. All services need new helpers! Clothing Center: The Clothing Center has resumed service and is now accepting fall and winter clothing, footwear and linens. Food Project: Parishioners donate bags of non-perishable foods and toiletries in bins at the church entrances. Volunteers bring these to the convent where members sort and store it for the needy families we visit and for food pantries. Envelopes for money or gift cards are at the bins. Partnership with Share Care: Parish drivers provide rides for elderly and handicapped parishioners. New drivers are welcome! Need a ride? Requests must be made at least two week in advance. Call Share Care at , identify as a St. Anne s Parishioner. We welcome all who wish to lend a helping hand to our needy Bethlehem neighbors or to transport elderly parishioners! Thanks for your generous support in the 5th Sunday collections! Keys to Life: Easter Here and Now: March at St. Francis Retreat House in Easton. This weekend retreat will feature talks by Fr. Kevin Bobbin and guest speaker, Fr. Bernard Ezaki, along with time for prayer, relaxation and fellowship. The cost is $215 for the weekend. Sue Himmelreich will present this topic in our Convent Conference Room on February 20th at 7 PM. All are welcome. Eldercare is now one of the biggest concerns among adult children who are employed and interrupted at work to deal with parent emergencies. This seminar will help you identify the WARNING SIGNS that your parent may need more help and what you can do to prevent emergencies by planning ahead. You will be connected with resources to help your parents at home and equip you with solutions that can easily be put into place. We are going to spend six weeks discussing the Apostles and their journey after Jesus walked on Earth with them, and then returned to the Father. Walk with them as they are called by Jesus and then walk with them as the charge they were given now becomes ours. Walk with them as we, together, build up the Kingdom of God.
