WEDDING BANNS BANN II Dennis George Haldaman Jr. and Sonja Marie Miller BANN III Tony Joseph Dravecz and Amanda Jane Weidner Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, We all come to Faith in Jesus because someone else has shared their Faith and the Gospel with us. Parents are the first teachers of the Faith to their children as they help their children know, love, and serve God. All Disciples of Christ are called to give witness to the joy the Gospel in both word and deed so that all God s children, regardless of their chronological age, will be drawn into full communion with God and each other in the Body of Christ. Today, on Catechetical Sunday, we celebrate the members of our Parish and School communities who joyfully share the gift of Faith with others. This year s theme, Safeguarding the Dignity of Every Human Person, reminds us that every person is created in the image and likeness of God and that every person is created to enter into a communion of love with God and others. The dignity of the human person is not based on rights and privileges that civil authorities grant. Human dignity is an intrinsic gift from God that begins at the moment of conception. As followers of Christ, we are called to help people recognize their personal dignity as a child of God. As followers of Christ we are called to cultivate the gift of Faith in every heart. As followers of Christ we protect and defend the dignity of every person and teach others to do the same. On behalf of our entire Family of Faith, we thank all who have heard God s call to be formal ministers of the Gospel message as Catechists for our Parish and School.
