Ministry to the Sick and Homebound Please notify us of any parishioner who is ill at home. Due to privacy laws, priests/deacons must be asked by family members to visit parishioners in the hospital or nursing home. 2 Sunday, February 1, 2015 WITH SINCERE APPRECIATION Thank you to the many volunteers who helped in anyway to prepare for the Vesper service at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and the Mass of Installation at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral. For the month of January, Joseph s House was able to provide emergency assistance to 60 families. Thank you for your continued donations of hygiene items. Chelsea Beauregard, Director COLLECTION FOR THE CHURCH IN LATIN AMERICA The family around the world today faces tremendous challenges. In Latin America, where Christian values remain important, many families are wounded by hostility from the surrounding environment and by broken relationships within the family. Yet throughout the hemisphere, the Church continues to point the way to Christ as the source of hope and healing. Many family and catechetical ministry projects funded by this Collection for the Church in Latin America, offer families and communities a way to strengthen, affirm, and celebrate their life together in faith, offering a different and hopeful vision of relationships with one another and with God. Please be generous to this Collection to be taken up next weekend, Sat., & Sun., Feb. 7th & 8th. CEMETERY NEWS At what age should I consider Preplanning? Adults of any age who make their own decisions should have a plan. Like your will, it can be revised throughout your life as needs change. The annual celebration of World Marriage Day is this Sun., Feb. 1st, at the 10:45 a.m. Mass at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. A reception will follow in the Parish Hall. Everyone is welcome to this wonderful celebration of this very special day. Our sincerest congratulations and prayer for blessings on all our married couples. The meal will feature Pea Soup, Mashed Potatoes, Meat Pie (Tourtiere) and more. Admission: Suggested donation of $10 per person. BIRTHRIGHT Birthright, a pro-life pregnancy service, will hold an Informational Meeting for prospective volunteers on Tues., Feb. 10th at 7:00 p.m. at their office at 289 College Street in Burlington. Birthright s mission is to provide unconditional loving help to any woman distressed by an unplanned pregnancy to help her carry her baby to term. We believe, It is the right of every pregnant woman to give birth and the right of every child to be born. All interested people are welcome to attend. Refreshments will be served. COMMUNION BREAKFAST Hosted by Catholic Financial Life Chapter N035 Winooski, Knights of Columbus Council #2284 and Daughters of Isabella Madonna Circle 730 a Communion Breakfast on Sun., Feb. 15th and Sun., Mar. 15th at the Winooski Senior Center. Serving time is from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The Breakfast will feature Scrambled Eggs, Home Fries, Bacon, Sausage, Pancakes, French Toast, Coffee, Tea and Juice. Adults: $5, $4 for ages 6 to 12, Free for children 5 and under. Proceeds from this event will benefit Vermont Catholic Formation Funds.
