3 Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, Unfortunately, over the last month several religious items have been stolen from the Church. While none of them have significant monetary value, they all have spiritual value and we want to ensure that this stealing ceases. In light of recent events of violence and terrorism in our own country and throughout the world, several Parishioners have asked if we are going to take any steps to increase security at the Church. In response to both concerns, we are implementing security changes recommended by our insurance provider. The one which will most directly affect Parishioners is a reduction in the number of entrances that will be unlocked for entering the Church. Security precautions strongly recommend that only those entrances which give direct and visible access to the main section of the Church be unlocked. These would be the main entrance doors and the two side entrance doors closest to the Altar. All doors can always be used for exiting the Church; those which provide indirect access will no longer be used for entering the Church. We all wish that we could still have the convenience of being able to enter through all doors of the Church, however, the safety and security of all Parishioners requires us to make these changes. Through the Intercession of Our Lady of Fatima, May the Peace of Christ be with You Always, Father Tauber Please pray for the recently deceased members and friends of our Parish Family: Terri Donaghy, Anne P. Rayan, Carl A. Maes, Robert S. Basak, Gregory J. Psarsky Jr., Jean H. Hudock, Guido L. Bellezza, Rev. James J. Burdess, Kevin B. Sullivan, Judith Mijocevic We also pray for the victims of the shootings in Las Vegas, Nevada, on October 1, in Sutherland Springs, Texas, on November 5, and in Rancho Tehama Reserve, California on November 13 and 14, and for the victims of the terrorist attack in New York City on October 31 and at the al Rawdah Sufi Mosque in Bir al-abed, Egypt, on November 24 Eternal Rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let Perpetual Light shine upon them. We also pray that God will comfort and console all who mourn their loss. SOLEMNITY OF THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY A Holy Day of Obligation Vigil Mass Thursday, December 7 th 7:00 PM Holy Day Masses Friday, December 8 th 8:00 AM, 9:00 AM, 4:45 PM and 7:00 PM ADVENT PENANCE SERVICE Monday, December 11, 2017 / 7:00 PM Guest Priests will be available to hear confessions. GIVING TREES TO BENEFIT CATHOLIC CHARITIES SERVICES TO INFANTS AND TODDLERS Giving Trees for Catholic Charities have been placed in the Church. Catholic Charities has changed the details of the Giving Tree Program in an effort to more effectively serve their clients and families. The Catholic Charities office locations have moved. The new locations have significantly less space to store items throughout the year. With this in mind, we are asking for monetary donations or gift cards to places that sell baby items (i.e. Walmart, Target, & Kmart). These monetary donations and gift cards will not be distributed directly to clients, but will allow Catholic Charities to purchase larger items and items that are needed on a case by case basis like car seats, strollers, and coats, etc. It will allow Catholic Charities to replenish other items as the need arises. Please take a tag and purchase a gift card. Place the gift card in the Offertory Basket marked Giving Tree by Sunday, December 17 th. (Please be sure that the Card is marked with the amount.) Your gift will truly help a child and family in need. I.H.M. COMPANIONS We are having an Advent Holy Hour Monday, December 18, 3:30 PM in the Convent Chapel. Want to join us?
