2 Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, Pope Francis challenges all of us not only to open our hearts to receive God s mercy, but also to become more effective instruments of His mercy to other. This is the invitation which I address to everyone: Let us accept the grace of Christ s Resurrection! Let us be renewed by God s mercy, let us be loved by Jesus, let us allow the power of His love to transform our lives too; and let us become agents of this mercy, channels through which God can make justice and peace flourish. Christ s Resurrection is a historical reality. More importantly, it is a spiritual reality. We do not recall Jesus Resurrection from the dead simply as a past event. We celebrate it as a living reality and as our destiny. Jesus does not want us simply to behold and admire the new life He received from the Father. He invites us to share in this new life. Through the Sacraments, which He entrusted to the Church, Jesus love and mercy abides among us and within us. Pope Francis challenges us to welcome that love and mercy into our hearts, to truly make Jesus our friend. We all long for a better world, a world of peace, justice, and harmony. This world is not an idle dream or a fantasy. If we allow God s love and mercy to transform our hearts and lives, then we can transform our world. When God s grace guides our minds and hearts then we can change doubt into faith, despair into hope, darkness into light, sadness into joy, hatred into love. On this Easter Sunday of the Divine Mercy of the Lord, may we not only receive God s mercy, but also truly become God s mercy to others. MISERICORDIA UNIVERSITY MEDICAL MISSION TRIP JACOB S LADDER Jeremy Kuba, a Saint Theresa School graduate and parishioner, will be speaking during Mass on the weekend of April 7 and 8. Jeremy and a group of other college students have been selected to go to Jamaica on a medical mission trip run through the Occupational Therapy program at Misericordia University. The team will be visiting Mustard Seed Communities which assist children and adults with disabilities, HIV/AIDS, and single mothers. Jacob s Ladder is a way to maintain care for humans with multiple disabilities as they transfer into the older population. All proceeds donated will be go towards the cost of the trip and materials for assistive technology. Jeremy Kuba will be in the main vestibule of the Church following all Masses the weekend of April 7 and 8 to collect donations. ANOINTING OF THE SICK Please call the Rectory Office to arrange for an Anointing. Emergency calls are accepted any time, day or night. COMMUNION CALLS TO THE SICK AND HOMEBOUND Please call the Rectory Office to make arrangement. CONFESSIONS Saturdays: 4:00-4:30 PM; First Fridays: 7:30-8:00 AM; First Saturdays: 7:00-7:30 AM; and by appointment. BAPTISMS Baptisms are celebrated on the third Sunday of each month at 1:00 PM. Please call the Rectory Office to register for a Baptism and the required Baptism Preparation Class or for information regarding qualified Godparents. WEDDINGS Engaged couples should make arrangements with one of the Parish Priests at least one year in advance of their intended Wedding. The required Diocesan Preparation Program, One in Christ, should be completed at least six months prior to the intended Wedding

8 Mass Intentions for the deceased and for special intentions of the living can be requested through the Rectory Office. The suggested offering for a requested Mass Intention is $ For a lasting spiritual remembrance, you may enroll deceased loved ones in the Saint Theresa Memorial Fund. One of the Masses on the first Sunday of every month is offered for all enrolled in the Fund. There is also a remembrance at all the Masses celebrated on All Souls Day. A minimum donation of $25.00 is requested for the perpetual enrollment. Please contact the Rectory Office. Commemorate special occasions for loved ones, such as an anniversary or a birthday, by enrolling them in the Little Flower Society. A Novena of nine First Friday Masses is offered for all enrolled in the Society. There is also a remembrance at one of the Masses on the Feast of Saint Theresa. A minimum donation of $15.00 is requested for the perpetual enrollment. Please contact the Rectory Office. The Sanctuary Candle and the Saint Theresa Vigil Candle are available each week to memorialize a deceased loved one or for a special intention. Every volunteer and supervisor is required to have all the following items: A Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check A Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Certificate A Federal Bureau of Investigation Criminal Background Fingerprint Check (NOTE: Even if you got a waiver for volunteering for another organization, you must get the fingerprint check to be cleared by the Diocese) A Certificate that you have attended the required diocesan Protecting God s Children Workshop (NOTE: Even if you completed a safe environment workshop offered by another organization, you must still complete a diocesan PGC Workshop to be cleared by the Diocese) A Certificate that you have completed Mandated Reporter Training A signed Acknowledgement Form that you will abide by the Diocesan Code of Conduct A signed Acknowledgement Form that you will follow the Diocesan Abuse Reporting Policy All volunteers who work with children and youth and all who supervise groups/programs/clubs/activities for children and youth must complete all State and Diocesan Requirements before they begin working with children and youth.
