Rick Sirianni Grand Knight s Report Brothers, We did a great job selling all the tickets for the Barbecue Grill. I would like to thank all that helped either buying or selling tickets. The proceeds of this effort will be used for our general charitable funds. We now need to help our church raise some of the much-needed funds for the repairs to the parish center. To this end we are going to have two fundraisers. We are selling raffle tickets for a beautiful wooden picnic table that was generously donated to help fund the repairs. We will also be selling tickets to win a Lowe's gift card. 100% or the proceeds of BOTH of these will go to St Henry's to help with the repair fund. Page one

2 While these efforts are commendable they are only one concrete example of our "Solidarity with our Priests and Bishops". We are, as a group, dedicated to the principals of "Charity, Unity & Fraternity". Working together as a united fraternal brotherhood we can perform charitable works for our parish, our church and our Priest. We need to stand by our Priests and defend the Church from the attacks they are suffering. Sadly some of these attacks are from the misguided members of our Church. We must all pray that the Holy Spirit enlightens their minds to accept Jesus' teaching through our Priest and Bishops. Vivat Jesus! Joe Wiggins Council Activities Youth News from the Scouts: We are knee deep in our Summer time programs now. The Cub Scouts are heading off to Camp Discovery, Adventure Cove on the Coast and Butte Creek Scout Ranch. The Pack is holding a bike rally and their annual Summer Picnic also. But the biggest event for the Cub Scouts is June means crossover. This is when the Scouts all move up to the next level. The Tiger Cubs become regular Cub Scouts and everyone moves up the ladder closer to Boy Scouts. Meanwhile the Boy Scout Troop continues their adventures. They have taken on a liking for Backpacking and are getting ready for two 25 milers and a 15 miler. They are also in the preparation stages for summer camp which will be out in Eastern Oregon. It will be a great adventure for the Troop. The Scouts would like to welcome Eugene Melvin, our new Charter Organization Rep.to the units. It is great to have a Charter organization like the Knights. Thank you all for your Support. Jerry Schleining Scoutmaster Church Scotty has reported that the sewer work at the Gym will start after July 16 th and done the 18 th and will be ready for the July 22 nd dinner. August 26 th Our council will be the Principal shakers and movers for the Annual Parish picnic. Venue still under considerations, please watch for upcoming news regarding the picnic. Please direct any questions on the picnic to Dale October 19 th, 20 th and 21 st Parish Harvest weekend. Our Council has voted to donate $ to the Saturday, 20 th Dinner Dance door prize. The council has presented Deacon Don Philip a certificate of Appreciation for his work. Calligraphy was done by Rod Spring. The Council will be providing a Pizza Feed for all Alter Servers, under the chairmanship of Dale Fraser. Date to be determined later. Fund Raising Committee June 17 th 11:00am - The Father s Day Barbecue Grill was raffled this day and the winner was Mike McKenzie ( ). The tickets were pulled by 2 daughters of Mitch Turner during the Catholic Daughter s Father s day breakfast at McMahon Room. Page Two

3 July22 nd Annual Golf Tournament at Mountain View Golf Course. Help is needed in getting sponsorships, playing teams and dinner. Fundraising committee report...our second annual golf tournament is Sunday, July 22. If you have potential sponsors or want to play be sure to sign up now. $85 includes 18 holes of golf, golf cart and dinner. Shotgun start at 1 pm Mountain View GC. In an effort to raise additional funds for the church building maintenance fund we are having 2 raffles. We will be raffling off the donated picnic table that is currently in our hall on Sunday, Aug 19. (Our parish picnic day) The tickets are $2 each or 3 for $5. We are also raffling off a $500 Lowe's golf card and the winner will be chosen when we have sold all 500 tickets. Any other ideas? We meet on Thursday at 7:00 pm at the hall just before the general meeting. Council Membership June 9 th was our Council Social potluck at the Hall and was attended by about 22 people with a variety of food that included hotdogs and a lot of pies. June 10 th was the last of the 3 mini-series on How to Read the Bible chaired by Duane Ranieri and was attended by about 30 people. This was a great undertaking and plans are already laid for doing the same next year. Great job Duane. Congratulations to Trey and Rachel Thompson they just have a brand new baby addition to the family. July 7 th 6:00pm Steak Fry, in lieu of steak fry, the council will offer Hot Dogs and Hamburger dinner for $5.00 at the McMahon Room. July 22 nd Golf Dinner, help is needed in both fund raising and dinner. Please see Scotty. September 22 nd the council will have a Crab Feed for all members. Details to be announced later. 4 th Degree Report June 14 th the 4 th degree assembly has dedicated 5 banners containing 82 names of Our Fallen Heroes killed in Iraq and Afghanistan from the State of Oregon since There were 8 color corp in regalia and 14 members and wives including Fr. Charles Wood in attendance. Fr. Palladino said the prayers. There was a good write up in the Gresham Outlook newspaper (herewith attached) Page Three Page Three

4 Regular 4 th degree meeting will be on July 11 th instead of July 4 th due to the holiday. Next Social Dinner will be July 18 th at the Columbus Hall with a featured Guest Speaker.
