2 Note from the Pastor: Knowing that you were not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from your futile way of life inherited from your forefathers, but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ. I Peter 1:18, 19 Redeemed and Redemption are common words used in church vocabulary, but ones that we sometimes don t understand well. Redemption is similar to the term salvation. The focus of redemption is the payment of a ransom. A great analogy is to purchase a slave from the slave market. The price paid to the slave master is the redemption and the slave is now yours. God purchased his redeemed (the Christ followers) from the slave market of sin and the purchase price was the life blood of His Son. Then He took us out of the slave market and legally adopted us as His heirs, His own children. What an incredible truth! What a reminder of our praise to our Redeemer! This week begins our Good News Club ministries at Chapin Elementary. Please be in prayer for these little ones, that each would know Christ and grow in their faith in Christ. Sunday is our annual youth vs adults Super Bowl game. I hope you can play or come and watch us! It is a blessing and a joy to be your pastor! See you on Sunday! Dan New JoyRinger Recruits Needed! Rehearsals are on Wednesdays at 6:15 PM. You do not have to read music to join the team! Please contact Debbie Doster (debbied@chapinpres.com) if interested in giving it a GO! Retired Men s Bible Study Meets Every Wednesday From 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM in RM 4. WE CARE ITEMS FOR JANUARY We are not doing a men s retreat this year but this is a great two day opportunity in Sumter We encourage our men s groups/bible studies to sign up to foster unity within their group (and get the group rate)! If you are not part of a group and want to get the group rate let Pastor Jack Carmody know (jackc@chapinprescom or ) by February 14. Meals/lodging is on your own. Baked Beans, Chili Beans, Cereal, Salmon, Spam, and Canned Tomatoes. Page, Issue 4
