Mark your calendars FAITH PROMISE SUNDAY, APRIL 9 Faith Promise is a means of funding missions in the local church. It has been used for many years to help congregations increase their giving to God s missionary work. This Faith Promise is a commitment between an individual and God. It is a one year promise of a sum of money that an individual, in dependence upon God, intends to give to missions. It is not based on money that people have on hand. The aim is higher. People are urged to ask God what they should trust him for, the amount that He will enable them to give for missions during the coming year. Faith Promise cards will be distributed to each person or couple. The individual or couple will prayerfully consider how much they are willing to trust the Lord to enable them to give to world missions over and above their tithes. Plan to join us for a church wide luncheon catered by El Poblano s after the 10:30 AM worship service on April 9. THANK YOU so much to all the wonderful people who have been the hands and feet of Jesus for our children these past few weeks: Good News Club, Sunday mornings, KIDZSpot, and our Walk with Jesus could not have been possible without each one of you along with the support of our church. Please continue to pray that God will continue to reveal Himself, His Love, and His Power to these precious kids He allows us to minister to in His name. With His Joy, Jackie Linder, Director of Children s Ministry
2 Note from the Pastor : Christ is risen! He is risen, indeed! That was the Paschal, or Easter Greeting in the early church. That s the defining fact about Easter, after all, and it s the defining point in all of history. When Christ rose from the dead, as Romans 4:5 says, He delivered justification to us that is, He made us right with the Holy God. And that changes everything. If I am right with the Holy God, then death has no fear left for me. If I am right with the Holy God, the approval of man cannot add to my joy, nor can the disapproval of man rob me of peace. If I am right with the Holy God, then all the failures and brokenness about me, my helplessness to improve my state, all my destructive patterns and habits and desires NONE OF THEM CAN CHANGE THE FACT that I am right with God because Christ is risen. Jesus resurrection is your proof that you are at peace with God, you are right with the Judge, you are accepted and loved by the Heavenly Father. In His risen body, Christ is your proof. You are right with God. Christ is RISEN. He is risen, indeed. Love, Pastor Marcus BIG THANK YOU to all the men, women, and children who came out and helped at the church workday on Saturday! The grounds look phenomenal! A special thanks to Toney Higbe for coordinating the outside work. Also thanks goes out to Steve Thomas who led the charge in the kitchen, as well as the men who helped in food preparation for the breakfast. Lost items - In the coat rack area is our lost and found with lots of stuff in it that has been there a long time. Please take a look to see if any of your missing items are there. You might find something of yours that you didn t know was missing! In a couple of weeks what is left will go to Good Works. Tablecloths - Due to the fact that 3 of our linen tablecloths have disappeared and others have been returned left in a dirty ball on the kitchen floor, all cloths will now be kept with our Linen Lady, Suzanne Roberson. If you need to use them, please call her. You may return them to her soiled and she will launder them; now that's cool! The plastic ones will remain in the pantry in the kitchen. Children's luncheon - If anybody would like to make sandwiches or cookies or help with the children's luncheon on Saturday, March 31; you are invited. Let me know. See you Sunday!
