1 THE NEWSLETTER February 5, 2015 Issue 5 CPC ADULT VS. YOUTH SUPER BOWL GAME The CPC Youth Ministry would like to thank everyone who participated in the 2015 CPC Adult vs. Youth Super Bowl event! Once again we were able to play at the Chapin High School Stadium which is one of the best high school stadiums (and fields) in the state! We are very grateful for CHS allowing us to use the stadium since it is wonderful venue. The Adults were victorious by a score of, well its not about the score right? (ok...ok it was 4-16 if you must know). Let s just say the Youth will be ready for a 2016 comeback! From the tailgate all the way to the trophy presentation, this was truly a fun and entertaining afternoon of football and fellowship. We couldn t have done this without the adult and youth players, tailgate food cooks, fans, children, and helpers (especially cleaning up)! We would like to say a special thanks to the following individuals who really helped to make this event a success: Equipment Transportation: Mark Morvay (Happy Birthday!) Loading/Setup/Unloading: the Peelers, the Shaffers, the Bowers, the Morvays, the Linders, & the CPC Haiti Team. Adult Player Recruitment: Josh Vahle and Doug Roberts His KidZ Halftime: Jackie Linder, Debbie Doster and their team! Chain Gang: Poochie DeMars, Lee Parker, Doug Foreman, Steve Linder Referees: Tommy Traynham and Dan Danny Football Ratchford Sound System: Debbie Doster Announcer/Play by- Play: Tim The Voice Hanley Flags: Courtesy of Crossover Athletics C H S S t a d i u m : Courtesy of CHS and Head Football Coach Justin Gentry (and Dawn Weathersbee)! Inside this issue: Pastor s Note Financial Update New Member Class Care Calendar Men s Event Annual Women s Tea We Care Needs West Virginia Mission Trip Meeting Youth Happenings All In The Family HIS KidZ Nursery/Teacher Schedule HIS KidZ Choir Usher Schedule Week at a Glance MEN S BREAKFAST THIS SAT.,FEB. 7 8:00 9:00 AM Open to all men and their sons! 2 Note from the Pastor: And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 Jesus said to him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me. John 14:6 Jesus Christ is God! He is the unique God-Man who lived on this earth a perfect life, died in our place on the cross and cancelled our debts/sins and then rose victorious from the grave and now reigns in Heaven. We live in a growing pluralistic society that says that all world religions are equal and all are valid paths to eternal life. The Bible makes it very clear that only through faith in Jesus Christ can someone enter into God s Heaven. There is salvation in NO ONE ELSE. Jesus is THE way, THE truth and THE life, not a way, a truth and a life. This is not man s opinion but the declaration of God! There are a growing and alarming number of people in and out of the church in America that are confused on this point. The Christian faith stands on this truth, Jesus is God! In the coming weeks, we will explore more about the deity of Jesus Christ in Philippians 2. We had a wonderful Super Bowl football game last week. I look forward to seeing you Sunday!
