Sam & Barb are both employed with the U.S.A.F. (Wright Patterson Air Force Base) and are the parents of three grown children. The Blair s reside at 6596 Smith Road Bradford, Ohio TOM & MARY HALL Tom & Mary Hall united with the VCC family on October 7 th. They have been faithfully attending VCC for the past 7 months and were first invited to VCC by Michelle Elliott. Tom is enjoying retirement and Mary is employed at GTI. The Hall s reside at 2111 Hillgrove Woodington, Union City, OH KRIS, LORI, YUKAHN & D.J. RIFFELL - The Riffell family first came to VCC this past summer at the invitation of J.J. and Christina Riffell. Kris, Lori, YuKahn and D.J. became a part of the VCC family on October 14 th. Kris is employed with Weaver Brothers and Lori is employed with BMI Karts. The Riffell s reside at 8872 Seibt Road Bradford, Ohio Election Day November 6, 2012 Celebrating Baptisms The following Baptisms were joyfully celebrated on September 30 th : Grace Jeffery, David & Connie Seibert, Glen & Sharon Craig, Chalmer Unger, Jean Unger and Andrew Pfiffi. Congratulations! Congratulations to JOE BRANDT who was selected 1 st in the nation in wrestling by the NCAA Division II Wrestling Coaches Association. Joe is a sophomore at Ashland University and the son of Tim & Amy Brandt. Church Office Closed The VCC office will be closed November for the Thanksgiving holiday. Congratulations to... John & Suzanne Roquemore who welcomed the newest addition to their family Emily Marie born on October 13 weighed 6 lbs. 15 ozs. and was 19 inches long! She is welcomed at home by her big brother, Will and big sister, Amalea. 2
3 Operation Christmas Child During the upcoming holiday season the VCC family will once again be reaching out and sharing God s love around the world through the ministry of Operation: Christmas Child. You are encouraged to get a shoe box (or several shoe boxes!) and fill them with a variety of gifts that will bring delight to a small child. Instructional brochures will be available at the morning worship services on Sunday, November 4 th. Shoeboxes will be collected in The Gather- Worship Service at VHCC VCC will provide the monthly worship service at the Versailles Health Care Center on Sunday, November 4 2:00 p.m. Volunteers are needed to assist at this service to help the residents with using the hymnals and serving Communion. This is ing Place through Sunday, November 18 th and will then be shipped to needy children around the world! Get your family and friends involved in this marvelous ministry of love! (Additional brochures will be available on the information table in The Gathering Place.) a wonderful ministry for the entire family to serve in! To volunteer please be in the Activities Room at VHCC by 2:00 p.m. If you have any questions please contact Pastor Dennis. VCC is leading a community-wide effort to assist families in New York who have been devastated by Hurricane Sandy. We will receive a special offering on Sunday (November 11), and you ll find a special offering envelope in your bulletin on Sunday, November 4th. 100% of the donations will be given directly to affected families in New York City and the surrounding area. Your donations will be distributed by the Orchard Group, a para-church organization located in Manhattan ( Following 9/11 the Orchard Group gave away over $1,000, in donations. Please make your checks payable to: Versailles Christian Church. Additional envelopes are available on the information table in The Gathering Place. Let s share the love of Jesus as we pray with our eyes open! REACHING OUT TO THAILAND Please continue to surround Kendra Wheeler with your prayers that God will provide her with safety and that He will work powerfully through her while she is serving in Thailand! Election Day Dinner On Tuesday, November 6th, the VCC Women and helpers will be sponsoring an Election Dinner and Bake Sale to support the Women s Activities. Available for sale will be a variety of baked goods and treats at the Bake Sale. Then stop by the Fellowship Hall from 4:00pm-8:00pm for soups, sandwiches, and desserts. This event will be open to the community. In order for this Dinner/Bake Sale to be successful, we will need donations from our church family plus volunteers to help with cooking, serving, and cleaning up. Please sign up on the Communication Slip in your church bulletin. If you need additional information, please contact chairperson Sharon Craig ( ) or Diane Yakos ( ). Women s Fellowship Bake Sale The Women s Fellowship will be holding a bake sale on November 6th during the Election Day Dinner, which will be open to the community. Co-Chairs, Sue Ann Leichty and Carol Brewer, are asking that ALL women of the church consider donating some type of baked good, candy, treats, potato salad, etc. to this event. The bake sale will be held in the entry area of the Fellowship Hall so that it will be accessible to dinner participants. In addition, they will also be raffling off two fall center pieces. So please consider contributing to this activity. There is a sign up sheet on the back table in The Gathering Place. If you would like to work on the committee, please see Sue Ann or Carol. Remember how captivating it was when you first fell in love with your spouse? Every moment was special. As real life takes over, that memory can grow less vivid, and you might not feel like the center of their world as often. Reserve this date on your calendar VCC s 5 th Annual Christmas Candlelight Service (featuring guest harpist Deidre Grennen) is Sunday, December 16 7:00 p.m. The beautiful worship experience has become a tradition for many families in the church and community! 5 It s Time To Order Christmas Poinsettias During the 2012 Christmas season at VCC the church sanctuary will be decorated beautifully in white and gold! We ll be using white poinsettias wrapped with gold foil as décor on the stage area. You are invited to place poinsettias in honor or in memory of your loved ones. Orders for poinsettias ($8.00 per plant) will begin on Sunday, November 18 th and continue through Sunday, December 2 nd. Orders can be placed on your Sunday morning Communication Slip. If you have any questions, please contact the church office. Thank you! for VCC Pastor Dennis has been sharing a God-sized vision for VCC. A vision so grand, so huge, so impossible that it can only be accomplished by God, and He alone will receive the glory! Let s pray together, worship together, work together and serve together in accomplishing God s vision, purpose and will for His church! Vision #1: Spiritual leadership at VCC (Elders) Vision #2: Raising up new leaders at VCC. (Continual leadership training, equipping and empowering) Vision #3: Every leader and every member of VCC committed to weekly involvement in corporate worship and a small group Bible study and tithing. Vision #4: Grow His church (VCC) to (reaching the lost) Vision #5: Become an extravagantly generous church. Give away 50% of VCC s annual income to ministries and missions locally and around the world. Then Jesus came to them and said, All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me.
