2 The Edgemont B<W_tist Church will sponsor a loyalty"'(tmnet at 7 o'clock Wednesday night, Nov. 3. Guest speaker for the occasion will be the Rev. Harold White, Secretary of Stewardsnip Promotion of the Baptist State Convention. White's topic will be "Why I Believe the Church Can Go Forward." He has had three pastorates-hickory, Spindale, and Clayton-since his graduation in 1949 from the University of Richmond and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. A native of Windsor, he married the former Sue Minton, a.so of Windsor, and they have two boys, Harold, Jr., 16, and Mark, 10. Presently he holds many positions with the N. C. Baptist Convention and various pastors' organizations. Following White's talk, the 1966 burget will be presented for approval. Revival The Edgemont Falls Revival is planned for the week of Nov. 7-12, with the church pastor, the Rev. G. Troy Page, as featured speaker. 4 Selma Baptists Name Interim Pntor The Rev. Harold M. White will deliver his first sermon Sunday morning as Interim Pastor of the Seirna Baptist Church. Dr. R. E. Earp, chairman of the Board of Deacons, stated that Mr. White will serve as pastor of the church until a new pastor is called. The Rev. Guy C. Moore, pastor for the past 7 years, resigned in February. The Rev. w. C. Barham, pastor of the Baptist Tabernacle, Rt. 1, Wendell will conduct the evening services. He will be introduced by R. H. Griffin. Mr. White will be introduced by George Sturgeon. Mr. White, who serves as secretary of Department of Stewardship Promotion for the Baptist State Convention, is a native of Windsor. He is a graduate of the University of Richmond a n d Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has held pastorates in Hickory, Spindale and Clayton. 8 Rev. White To Hold Revival Services First Baptist Church of Clayton. The Youth Choirs will bring special song service each evening at 7:15. The pastor, Rev. Millard M. He has served as pastor of Highland Baptist Church in Hickory, First Baptist Church of Spindale and First Baptist Church of Clayton. He has been with the State Baptist Convention in the stewardship promotion department since THE LOCAL church has been involved in a stewardship campaign which win end Sunday, when menbers sign and turn in dedication cards estimating their gifts to the church for the upcoming year, according to the pastor Rev. Carl Hemphill. Rev. Hemphill said. the budget for the year has been decided at calls for increased expenditures of $25 per week. "Since our church started its Forward Program in 1960," said Hemphill, "our giving has risen f r o m approximately $16,000 to $47,000 for. last year. This year the budget calls for a weekly income of $850." CAMPAIGN members WHITE include Ronald Snider and Herman Kinney, b u d g e t planning committee; Frank K an o y, promoter; Nancy Kanoy, clerical and publicity; Donnell Moody, tally; Pauline Young, children's party; Margaret Kirkman, Jannie Smith and Ruby Hamphill, food; Betty Creed, reservations; and Billie Harville, decorations. Boger resigned to go to school at Piedmont Bible Inst it u t e in Winston Salem. Lyles Memorial Baptist Church began about nine years ago as a Sunday School mission through the" 3 0, 000 Movement," under the leadership of the Rev. White, who was then pastor of Clayton's First Baptist Church.' The Rev. White is now serving in the stewardship pro- motion of the North Carolina State Convention in Raleigh. White is a native of Wmdsor and is a graduate of the University of Richmond, Va., and of the Southwestern B a p t i s t Theological Seminary at Fort Worth, Tex. White is from Windsor, N. C. He is a graduate of the University of Richmond and also of S o u t h w es t e r n Theological Seminary. He has held pastorates at Highland Baptist Church, Hickory, First Baptist Church, Spindale, and the First Baptist Church, Clayton. He, his wife, Sue, and his son live in Clayton. They also have a son in Law School. Music for the week will be provided 'by the church's adult and youth choirs. The Battleboro Baptist Church choir will have special music on Tuesday, April 24, and a Barbershop Quartet will have the special music on Thursday, April 26.
