1 Pierce ToLead Studies Rev. Charles Pierce, pastor of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, Ft. Mill, S. C., will te'ad the adult Bible Study at Shadybrook Baptist Church which will begin Sunday and continue through Wednesday. The Rev. Mr. Pierce is a' former pastor of Jackson Park Baptist Church and father of Rev. Gilbert Pierce, pastor of the Shadybrook Church. The Rev. Mr. Pierce is a' graduate of Southeastern Seminary and has pastored other churches in Maryland, Washington, D. C., Greensboro and High Point. Other teachers for the study, which will begin at 6 p. m. Sunday' and 7 p. m. Monday through, WePlnesdaywill include: Rev. Gilbert Pierce, who will lead the study for the youth of the church, entitled, "Youth - God Answers." Brooks, minister of music and education at the church will teach the older children from the book, Myself and Others." Mrs. pert Pierce will teach the er children, "The Story of seph" and Mrs. Fallie Rape will teach preschoolers, "Friends Who Help Us." 2 JP BAPTIST HOMECOMING -The Rev. Charles E. Pierce, who served as pastor of Jack son Park Baptist Church from 1964 until 1968, will be the speaker at the 29th homecoming anniversary Sunday at the 11 a. m. service. A picnic dinner will follow the service. The Rev. J. W. Parham, a former pastor of the church 'presently serves as interim pastor. Former pastors of the church have been speakers at the church during the last year. 3 Former Pastor To Speal~ Rev. Charles K Pierce, tormer pastor of Jackson Park Baptist Church, will be the speaker at the 11 a. m. homecoming services at the church Sunday. Presently serving as pastor ofpleasant Valley BaptistChurch, Ft. Mill, S. C., the Rev. Mr. Pierce served as pastor of the church from December 1964 through September Following the service a picnic will be served. The church was organized on Oct. 7, 1945 in a tent on the corner of Louise and Jackson Ave. A small wooden building without a.floor was later erected followed by the building of a brick education building. The present chapel and additional education space was completed in Pastors who have served the church are Rev. Glenn Colvard, Rev. Wade James, Rev. J. W. Parham, Rev. D. Calhoun Johnson, Rev. Thomas E. Sherrill and the Rev. Mr. Pierce. Rev. Ned L. Duncan is the pastor of the church. Aubrey J. Bragg is minister of music and Mrs. Marvin Rouse is secretary. Mrs. Rouse has served as secretary of the church for 15years.

Under the leadership of the IReV. Mr. Pierce, the Jackson Park church estalblished a bond 'Pr()~a'ID for financing the construction of two new units of the church plant, an additional education unit and a chapel. The revisions in the church plans were made and Qn M.a'y 23, 1965,!five months alfter the Rev. Mil'. Pierce came there as pastor, groundbreaking for the new construction was held. On June 19, 1966 the new units [Were dedicated. They were constructed at a cost of approximeteiy $115,000.,The Rev. Mr. Pierce and Mrrs..Pierce are the parents of the Rev. Pierce recently became pastor of the church after serving the Jewell Baptist Church in High Point for nine years. The Pierce's son, Rev.
