3 Baptist Resigns Pastor Church The pastor of Calvary Baptist Church on South Franklin Road for the past five and one-half years, the Rev. Fred W. Reece, Sunday morning tendered h i s resignation to the congregation at the conclusion of the service. In a voice filled with emotion, the popular 45-year-old minister told the congregation he had ac-: cepted a call to become pastor of Sea Gate Baptist Church at J Wilmington. The Rev. Fred Reece, pastor of the Sea Gate Church of Wilmington, will be the evangelist for the revival. Services begin Monday evening and continue through Sunday, Sept. 28. There will be special music each night by the church choirs and invited guests, The pastor, the Rev. B. C. McMurray, will lead the singing. Fred Reece, pastor of Trinity Baptist. in Tarboro, is to lead Lexjngto.i:i ~st Church's fall revival sta~y night and continuing through the following Sunday. A former resident of High Point the visiting pastor was ordained in 1956 by Lexington Avenue Baptist Church. He has served several churches in the state, and while in Mt. Airy he was on the General Board of the Baptist State Convention. Sunday's service will be at 7 p.m. and those on week nights at 7:30 p.m., according to the Rev. Woodrow W. Robbins, pastor. The Rev. Vernon Frank, minister of music, has arranged fur special music during the revival.

Fred Reece, formerly of Boone has accepted the pastorate of Southside Baptist Church on Stanton Stre Reece was pastor of Oak Grove Baptist Church at Boone prior to assuming the local pastorate. He served congregations at Randleman, Mount Airy and Wilmington prior to moving to Boone in The pastor is a former member of the General Board of the Baptist State Convention, and of the Board of Ministers at Campbell College. He presently is on the Board of Associates at Gardner-Webb College. He and his wife, the former Jean Martin of Elkin, are residing at 909 Wimbledon Pl. 11 R'.EV. '.FRED REECE Charity Sets Homecoming And Revival Homecoming services will be held at Charity Baptist Church Sunday at eleven o'clock. Dinner will be served following the service. In the afternoon the congregation will enjoy stnging; Plans are to have different singing groups participating. The following groups are expected: The Sunshine Trio from Mt. Airy, the Jublairs quartet from Winston-Salem, and also the following local groups: The Calvary Trio, The Shady Grove Quartet, and the Falls Creek Quartet. Dewey Bullin will preside in the afteroon. The annual Revival will begin Sunday night at 7:30 and continue until Oct. 18. The speaker for both the Homecoming service and the Revival will be Rev. Fred Reece, a "home - town" boy. He is pastor of the Oak Grove Baptist Church in Boone. Rev. Reece serves in an outstanding way among Baptists in North Carolina. He has served on the General Board of the Baptist State Convention. He is now serving on the Board of Ministers of Campbell College, and he is also on the Board of Associates at Gardner Webb College, He is Chairman of Evangelism in the Three Forks Association and has recently been elected as " Citizen of the Year" in Boone by the Civitan Club and serves as its chaplain.
