3 Page 3 We are grateful this week for all stewards in our parish who share their gifts by cooking or providing meals for the homebound or those in need at soup kitchens or community centers. The fruitful ministries at our parish are examples of how many of you have answered, and continue to answer, that call. To ensure such work can continue requires not only gifts of time, but also of financial help. I ask you to prayerfully consider supporting our parish with electronic donations through Faith Direct. 4 Page 4 WEEKLY PARISH CALENDAR Full calendar on the Parish Website SACRAMENTS (Please see the Parish Website for full details) Celebration of the Eucharist Saturday 5:00 p.m. and Sunday at 7:30 and 9:15 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. Dismissal for Children s Liturgy of the Word begins on October 15th. Daily Mass Monday - Thursday, 9:00 a.m..holyday of Obligation: 9:00 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. (may vary, check website) Eucharistic Adoration: Wednesday - 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession) Saturday, 4:00pm to 4:45pm. Please feel free to call Fr. Frank and make an appointment to celebrate the sacrament. Baptism We suggest that you contact us before your child is born! Call or the Parish Center. Baptisms are scheduled monthly on the first Sunday throughout the year, and also the third Sunday from April to September. They are held at 1:00 p.m., September thru June and during July and August at 12 noon. Marriage Contact the Parish Center so that we can arrange the marriage interview and set your date. 6 Page 6 Next Saturday, October 14th, the Eighth Grade families gather at the 5:00 p.m. mass for the Rite of Enrollment. Come and meet the new Youth Minister, Mike Clauberg! All our young people are invited to be part of Liturgy of the Word with Children We have now reinstated LWWC now that Faith Formation classes are underway. Children are invited after the Opening Prayer to join the Catechist, and process from church meals served They return to church at the time of the Creed and re-join us for the rest of Mass.

7 Page Stewardship Renewal Celebration of Ministries This weekend after the 9:15 and 11:15 masses, all are invited to the Downstairs Hall for refreshments, games for the children, and information about our parish ministries and groups! Come and meet our new Youth Minister, Mike Clauberg! Thank you for your sharing of time, talent and treasure.

Frank on Catholic Topics Wednesday nights 7:00 8:00 p.m. (once a month) with Father Frank This Wednesday, October 18th This month s topic: General Overview of Mass, followed by Ask Anything You Want About Mass (Parents: feel free to bring your children!) Church Sound System now Upgraded! Thank you for your increased support of our parish, so that we were able to bring our sound system new life! We also received a $7,000 gift towards this project. We hope you like what you hear!

12 Page Stewardship Renewal Time, Talent and Treasure This weekend: October 21 and 22 Financial Report to the Parish October 28 and 29 Commitment Weekend All encouraged to submit their annual renewal card for time, talent and treasure CHILDREN s CHRISTMAS PAGEANT is GEARING UP! REGISTRATION now Beginning! Christmas Pageant, December 9th, 7:00 pm in church. The first Rehearsal is November 5th, Sunday afternoon at 3:00 in church. 13 Page 13 Thank You We are so grateful to Girl Scout Troops 3878, 3137, and 2682 for the food drive they organized. We received an amazing 40 boxes of food. Linus Ministry The members of this wonderful ministry meet on the third Thursday of the month, October 19, at 10 AM. The members crochet and knit blankets for those who are ill and/or homebound. The ministry consists of people who range in skill from expert to beginner. Come visit us at the Celebration of Ministries!. Thanksgiving On the weekend of November 4-5, we will be talking to you about the Thanksgiving Drive and asking you to take a tag to help a family share in the wonderful bounty that we associate with Thanksgiving. Please bring your basket to the Parish Hall on November 19. Peggy s Pantry Our shoppers shop, L.I. Cares delivers, and you take up the slack. Please bring one or more items from our needs list to help us prevent shortages for the families we serve. Thanks you for always being so generous!!! Canned pasta baked beans jelly shampoo dish soap soup We are grateful for the families who have memorialized the white and green vestments. We are now able to offer this red chasuble should you want to donate it in memory of a loved one.
