If you have a bit of time available on Monday mornings we need some more people to help count the weekly collection. We do this in teams. Right now we have 2 teams so it would only be an every other week commitment. Please call the rectory if you are interested or ihmchurch@comcast.net. BELIEVING IN JESUS CHRIST Throughout the Easter season, all three of the Sunday readings are taken from the New Testament-the Christian scriptures. Together they explore what it means to believe in Jesus as the Christ, the One who fulfilled the prophecies of the Jewish scriptures. Today's selections refer to our human weakness, yet they emphasize the forgiveness and peace that are available to those who put their faith in "Jesus Christ the righteous one" (1 John 2:2). In the Acts of the Apostles Peter invites everyone to "repent, therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be wiped away" (Acts 3:19). The First Letter of John calls Jesus Christ "expiation for our sins" (1 John 2:2). Finally, in the Gospel Jesus greets the disciples with "Peace" and urges them to preach "repentance, for the forgiveness of sins" (Luke 24:47). Copyright (c) J. S. Paluch Co., Inc. 4 SILVER JUBILEE MASS FOR FATHER HARLOW Fr. Lance W. Harlow will celebrate his Silver Jubilee Anniversary (25 years) with a Mass of Thanksgiving on Wednesday, April 18, at 7:00 PM at IHM. A reception will follow in the parish hall. There will be no Adoration after Mass due to the reception. All Immaculate Heart of Mary and Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Parishioners are invited and encouraged to attend. (Please note that the Diocese has been listing the date incorrectly. Wednesday, April 18 is the correct date.) MEN S WORKSHOP - All men are invited to participate in a Spiritual Development Workshop entitled, Witnessing Christ in a World of Chaos" with Msgr. Richard Lavalley. The workshop will be conducted in the Immaculate Heart of Mary parish hall, Williston, Saturday morning, April 21s from 7:45 AM to 10:15 AM. This is a FREE program and will include a complimentary continental breakfast sponsored by the Knights of Columbus. Leclerc Memorial Scholarship award to an eligible graduating high school senior or college undergraduate student. April 18th is Rice Memorial High School's firstever Day of Giving a great chance to rally the Rice-Cathedral community in a powerful show of support and gratitude for the school during its 100th anniversary. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY Our Community Cares Camp will be celebrating its 10th season of providing summer food and fun to Chittenden East kids. We are about to start our spring direct mail campaign and could use some help addressing envelopes. Do you have some time to spare? We can deliver letters and envelopes to your home, or maybe get together with friends and make a party of it?
