These forums will be o Moday eveig Jue 6 at 7:00 pm ad o afteroo, Jue 12 at 1:15 pm. Both forums will be i the church. We are offerig two opportuities for this cosultatio to eable as may as possible to participate. I ecourage you to come. Oce agai, I will review the backgroud to this. The parish Facilities Committee did a eeds assessmet of all of our 11 buildigs o both of our campuses i That study idetified $1.5 millio of eeds that were more or less maiteace. They are classified as to priority, with ay safety eed receivig the highest priority. Sice the, we have bee chippig away at these eeds through our operatig budget year by year. Followig that eeds assessmet ad the completio of the Parish Strategic Pla (miistry or pastoral pla) i August 2008, we cotracted with a professioal to do a detailed master pla of all buildigs ad both properties. This master plaig project took the eeds assessmet doe by our Facilities Committee (ad, by the way, that saved the parish a good bit of moey) ad folded this ito a major or capital eeds study. This project was completed i Oe of the Phase 1 items i this master pla is our Sait Margaret church buildig. The buildig is ow 42 years old ad there are some major eeds (icludig deferred maiteace) that must be addressed soo. To that ed, the parish retaied a architect i the fall of 2010 to develop a complete pla for addressig the eeds of our church. This past November, we had a ope forum o this topic. About sixty people atteded. We heard your ideas, feeligs, hopes ad desires for the church. Sice the, the architect alog with a parish committee has worked ad developed specific plas. I geeral, the pla falls ito three areas: Repair. The roof, the heatig ad air coditioig system, soud cotrols, oe area of the foudatio, paitig, ad the staied glass. Reovatio. Restrooms, sacristies, cry room, ad Recociliatio Rooms, improved lightig throughout the etire buildig, relocatio of the baptismal fot to the lower sactuary, ad coversio of the preset gallery ad baptistery ito a gatherig space with etraces from a ew courtyard o the parkig area side of our church buildig. Liturgical Ehacemets. Erichig the sactuary area with color, staied glass, ad more appropriate chairs, revampig ad improvig the choir/music miistry space to the right of the sactuary, repair of pews ad keelers, makig the Statios of the Cross ad the Maria shrie more promiet, addig a shrie of Sait Joseph, ad addig some ew liturgical art ad relocatig staied glass i the chapel. As you ca see, this is a big project ad also a sesitive oe. Our worship space, our space for prayer ad sacramet is very importat to all of us. It is sacred space ad it is sacred to us. Because of that, it is importat that we cosult oce agai before fializig these plas. For the beefit of those uable to atted either of these sessios, we will have visuals of the plas o display later i Jue i both Sait Margaret church ad i the Callaha Ceter. By the way, we also have developed plas for the much eeded repair ad reovatio of the Elemetary School gym. I will be sharig o that here withi a few weeks ad there will also be a cosultatio o that. As always, I am grateful for your faith ad your faithful presece ad participatio i Sait Margaret Parish. Father Mike M
