Bartimaeus blidess did t prevet him from hearig the ruckus of the approachig crowd ad from askig who was creatig all the fuss. Whe he foud out, his cries of So of David i addressig Jesus were ot just a way of idetifyig Jesus lieage. Sice the term So of David is clearly a referece to the Messiah, Bartimaeus was shoutig both to the crowd ad to Jesus that he believed Jesus was the promised Messiah. Although Jesus was surrouded by a crowd ad was set o reachig his destiatio, his ears ad heart were attued to the cry of oe callig out for mercy. Bartimaeus eeded Jesus mercy, ad Jesus heard his cry. because of aythig good we ve doe or ay specific set of words we repeat. Jesus shows us he cares for us by takig care of our eeds as we ackowledge our depedece o him ad trust i him to meet those eeds. Ad what Jesus asks i retur is that we do as Bartimaeus did ad follow Jesus alog the roads of our lives, o matter how old or youg we may be. The Jesus Coectio Do you have a good fried who you usually talk to about your problems? Jesus is the ultimate fried. As Bartimaeus leared, we ca cry out i faith whe we eed Jesus help! Ad we ca have faith i Jesus to meet our eeds i oe way or aother. Pray hoestly about your eeds, ad the focus o the reasos you have faith i Jesus to help you, heal you, or simply hear you. You ca write your prayer here. Bartimaeus Hails Jesus as the So of David I ackowledgig Bartimaeus idetificatio of him as the So of David, Jesus was also makig a statemet. Earlier i his miistry, he d avoided beig idetified as the Messiah. But ow, as he was makig his last trip to Jerusalem, where he would be crucified, he was ready for his idetity to be kow. Bartimaeus Faith Iitiates the Healig Notice that Bartimaeus faith i Jesus iitiated his healig. Jesus did t say, Because you ve lived a good life i spite of your hardship, I ll heal you. He did t say, Because your parets were so faithful to me, I ll give you your sight. Jesus respoded to Bartimaeus faith. Thigs have t chaged. Jesus respods to our eeds o the basis of our faith, ot Lesso 13 Witer Quarter
