1 Saint Patrick s Catholic Church 115 Maple Avenue, Victor NY Authentic faith, Welcoming and Engaging September 23-24, 2017: Twenty-Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time To Evangelize is the reason why we, the Church, exist. Evangelization in three simple steps: Step One: Befriend Jesus. Step Two: Befriend others. Step Three: Bring your friends to Jesus. We re glad you re here with us! We warmly welcome new members to our parish - the Caraway s: Delton, Karen, Delton & Henry; the Lazaro s: Dennis, Amy & Xavier; and the Windover s: Eric, Marie, Sarah, Jonathan and Elyse. Thank you for joining our parish family. Your presence is a blessing to all of us. We nourish each other through life in communion and community. Our Building Fund Campaign September is coming to a close, and so too is our Building Fund Campaign at the end of the month. Setting a six-month period for the campaign allowed us to focus on this important endeavor. Parishioners still can contribute towards our designated Building Fund after September. Electrical, lighting and AC in church are next on our worklist. Saint Joseph, help us in our building projects! ChristLife in Our Parish Register now! By filling-out a tri-fold brochure found at the church entrances and submitting it to the Parish Office, or Online, visit New Parish Office Hours Mon-Thurs: 8:30 AM - 4 PM (lunch: 12:30-1 PM) Fri: 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM Celebrating the Year of the Eucharist Fall in love with Jesus in the Eucharist more deeply Be Counted, Once More In a few more weeks, it will be October, and all parishes in the diocese will be taking a census of weekend Mass attendance. At Saint Patrick s, for the past two years, we have been challenged to be more present at the weekend liturgies, and for the past two years, there had been positive response as shown in the gradual increase in our weekend Mass attendance. In 2014, the October census was 679; in 2015, it rose to 762, and in 2016, it further increased to 856. This year, can we prayerfully work together and continue this beautiful trend? With 5,595 parishioners currently registered in our parish, there is definitely a lot more room for growth. Ideally, all parishioners would be partaking at Sunday Mass, weekly. Even those who are ill and homebound (or in nursing home or hospital), if and when brought Holy Communion, would be in communion with us. In our participation at the Sunday Mass, it will be of great help that we rediscover our personal and living relationship with Jesus Christ, as it is this that will give profound meaning to our Sunday obligation. Newly Baptized Thank you, James and Danielle, for sharing your faith in Jesus to your daughter, Mikayla Jean. And thank you, Sean and Allison, for your support to James and Danielle. Through the inspiration of the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph, may you create a Nazareth for Mikayla, where she can ever grow in the virtues of faith, hope and love. Our Parish Youtube Channel: Saint Patricks of Victor NY Live streaming weekday and weekend Masses in Church Thank you for taking the time to read the bulletin Be holier today than yesterday. The only and truly sad thing in life is not to become a saint

God s Blessings to You, Lori Dear Friends: It is with a heavy heart that let you know I have submitted my letter of resignation to Fr. Edison. The 11+ years I have spent as a professional minister here at St. Patrick s Church have brought me so many beautiful moments. It has been the highlight of my life to build relationships with our staff and our parishioners. Thank you for all the ways you have helped me grow as a wife, mother, daughter, minister, and disciple. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of your volunteer hours and support. I quite literally could not have made it this far without you. I pray I have made a difference and have had a hand in building our community. As many you know, over these last years, I have fought long and hard to find balance in the varied responsibilities of my ministry. I love St. Patrick s Parish and have remained excited to give my time, energy, and love here. Sadly, I have come to the point where I must leave ministry in order to choose time with my family. We, as a parish, have certainly known change over the last decade but God has been good to us through it all. I trust and pray that He is leading us to greater things. Scott and I will remain part of St. Patrick s Parish and so there is no need to say goodbye. I ll just say...see you at mass! With a grateful heart, Lori Social Ministry & Outreach Respect Life Sunday In preparation for Respect Life Sunday, we are collecting baby shower items from this weekend until Sept 30-Oct 1. Place your donations in designated bins by the church entrances. Thank God for the gift of human life! We also accept donation of paper and hygiene products. Please mark and drop off donations in the Alcove. If any question, please contact Jean Acquilano at (585) Thank you.

5 Let there be light Mirror God s Generosity (Reflection on Matthew 20:1-16a) The kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out at dawn to hire laborers for his vineyard. We are presented with another image of the kingdom whose God desires that every laborer is hired so that no one stands idle but all are given a certain focus by the special work that is entrusted to them. Living out our faith: Do get to know our Parish Strategic Plan, and through it, get actively and regularly involved in our mission as a parish. Why do you stand here idle all day? They answered, Because no one has hired us. Everybody has the right to come know about the Kingdom of God and the invitation it places on all people. Jesus offers all to come to know God, and to do something for God and His kingdom. Others do not know about God and His kingdom because of silence about God and His kingdom by Christian disciples Living out our faith: Invite family members and friends to come to know God. Talk to them about how Jesus makes a difference in your life. Celebrate Mass with them. What if I wish to give this last one the same as you? Or am I not free to do as I wish with my own money? Are you envious because I am generous? God is immensely and equally generous to all His children in that He wants all to encounter Him and to become part of His kingdom. Living out our faith: Take on the mentality of increase when it comes to faith and the exercise of it - church membership, presence at Mass, growth in faith, helping others, stewardship, etc....and a little child will lead them. Isaiah 11:6 As we were preparing in the Sacristy for the 10:30 Mass last Sunday, three altar servers, Michael, Annie and Jane, arrived early and already vested in their alb. Then came Gavin to the Sacristy asking whether we needed the additional assistance of an altar server as he offered his help. Wow, the sight in the Sacristy that Sunday morning was truly inspiring! I wish that all parishes would find these as the regular occurrence every weekend: that all liturgical ministers are attentive to the schedule, and show up on time before Mass, that all parents are supportive of their children who serve in whatever capacity at Mass, and that unscheduled liturgical ministers take the time to check in the Sacristy to see if extra help were needed. Much of the work done in our parish is accomplished by good stewards. (I am staying away from the word volunteer because the word seems to indicate that our mission is something extra rather than as something that is part of who we are and what shapes us as Christian disciples.) For this I am truly grateful. May the fruit of our work manifest in greater participation among parishioners in the life of the parish. May the fruit of our work show in our sense of accountability and responsibility in ministries we are involved in. Saint Patrick, please continue to look after our parish. - Father Edison
