5 Pentecost Offering Investing in our Greatest Resource A gift to the Pentecost Offering helps the church encourage, develop, and support its young people, and also address the needs of at-risk children. 40% of the Pentecost offering can be retained by individual congregations wanting to make an impact in the lives of young people within their own community. The remaining 60% is used to support ministries of the Presbyterian Mission Agency. Check out page 13 in the May issue of The Faith Flyer for details on the Young Adult Volunteer program, the Ministries for Youth program, and the Children-at-Risk program. We will receive the PENTECOST Offering on May 15, Pentecost Sunday. This is also the day we celebrate our Confirmation class as we welcome them into the membership of our church. Faith Presbyterian Church will use the 40% that we receive to support East Penn School District ANGEL NETWORKS in Lincoln Elementary and Lower Macungie Middle School. Angel Networks help children at risk by providing basic assistance to students in need on an immediate, short term basis; supporting students' ability to focus on learning in school; and giving anonymously in the true spirit of community. They provide students with basic necessities such as EMERGENCY groceries, clothing on an individual basis, curriculum-based field trips, academic expenses, and personal need products. In 2015, we received $1, from 29 participants with $ going to both of the ANGEL NETWORKS. Do you think we can increase this amount?? Please prayerfully consider participating in this offering and INVEST IN OUR GREATEST RESOURCE!! Yard Sale On Saturday, June 4, 2016, Faith Presbyterian Church will hold its Spring YARD SALE. All proceeds will be divided equally between Westminster Village (elder care) and our partners in Riamukurwe Parish of Nyeri, Kenya (in support of the orphanage and school). Our goal is to involve the entire church and open our doors to the community. The Yard Sale is more than a fundraiser, it encourages the community to see the physical church and feel the community of love of our members. You can help by: Cleaning out your house and donating items. Encouraging friends and family to offer items for donation or setting up a space and selling their own items. Everyone can participate by donating items or Volunteering to Bake, be a Cashier, Setting Up, Kitchen Helper, or Cleaning UP. If you have questions, or would like to arrange an appointment to have items picked up, simply or call: Phone: faithchurchyardsale@gmail.com Joe Payea ( ) or Laurie Murray Payea ( ) Yellow registration forms can be found in the narthex!
