5 Announcements Fellowship Time - You are invited to our fellowship time that is held between worship services. This is a time to visit with friends and meet new ones! We'll have the coffee pot on and some breakfast goodies available in the Café from 8:30 8:55am and from 10:00 10:30am. We will also have coffee in the Fellowship Hall immediately following the 8:15 worship service. Wherever you head for fellowship time, we welcome you and encourage you to come! Welcome New Members! This morning Tim and Jennifer Mendenhall will be joining at the 11:15am service. We welcome you to the ORUMC family! Candy Donations Please consider donating non-peanut, individually wrapped candy for the Easter Eggstravaganza by TODAY if possible. You may leave donations at the office for Larissa. Volunteers? We need volunteers to help fill eggs or treat bags prior to the Easter Eggstravaganza and LOTS of volunteers on the day of the event. Please contact Larissa at larissa.brown@oakridgeumc.org or sign up on the church website. Blood Drive - Tomorrow, April 8 from 2:00-6:30pm. All types of blood are needed. If 25% of the people who COULD give blood, WOULD give blood, there would be no shortages. Please take 1 to 1.5 hours to give life. Appointments help with an orderly flow and are recommended and can be made through the church website. Walk-ins will be processed as timely as possible. Donors are encouraged to use the Red Cross RapidPass website If you cannot donate blood, consider bringing a snack donation for the canteen. Easter Flowers Deadline per florist is tomorrow, April 8. White geraniums are available this year for purchase. They will be placed at the altar in the Sanctuary on Easter morning in honor or in memory of a loved one. You may take them home with you following Easter Worship services. Geraniums can be enjoyed all summer and can be enjoyed by those allergic to lilies. Late applications will not be considered. The scholarship is open to anyone attending any higher education institution, including community colleges and trade schools. There will be at least two scholarships given. You may get information in the church office or online on the church website at oakridgeumc.org/youth/youth information. 5

6 Feed & Seed Join us Wednesday, April 10 from 5:30-6:30pm in the FLC. This week s menu is Biscuits & Gravy/Eggs/Sausage/Bacon/Breakfast Casserole/Fruit. Alternate Entrée Option: Pancakes. Price is $7.50 per person (family maximum of $25). Reservations and/or cancellations are required by 4:30pm each Monday. 7 Oak Ridge Community Meals on Wheels has a volunteer opening! Many of you are familiar with Meals on Wheels because ORUMC has been involved in this great ministry for many years, both in giving financial gifts, and, you make up a very large number of our volunteers! The first Tuesday of every month is available if you d like to join us! Essentially, you would pick up the meals at Countryside Village/Manor in Stokesdale and deliver them to our recipients once a month, the same day each month. We offer these simple thoughts and prayers to enable you to focus during the 40 days of LENT. Are you a walker? Instead of a fast, this is a spiritual feast of prayer and walking 1000 steps per day (equal to the last ½ mile of Jesus walk to the cross). Please join us. 9 Mission of the Month - Good Samaritan Ministries Good Samaritan Ministries is a truly local mission, serving those who live within a 10 mile radius of the 10 member churches in Stokesdale and Oak Ridge. Boxes of food and articles of clothing are distributed each month to those who come to the center in Stokesdale. No one is turned away. Through your generosity, ORUMC provided 6612 pounds of food items, and over $2500 for emergency financial assistance, in For 2019, there will be even more opportunities to participate and serve with GSM. How can you help? Donate food. Each month, we collect food items from our members, as noted in the bulletin. All you need to do is purchase the items when you do your grocery shopping, and drop them off in the bin provided to the right of the church office. This is a small act, but together we are providing food for over 100 families each month. Help distribute food and clothing. Saturday, March 30 (youth) and Saturday, November 23 (all) will be ORUMC's time to distribute food in Help is needed from 8:30 11:00 a.m. If you are interested in helping, please contact us. Donate funds. GSM provides emergency financial assistance to people struggling to pay utilities and rent because of job loss, illness or other family emergencies. Your financial support helps fund this service, and to help pay for additional food items as needed. Help pack boxes of food. Each month, on Monday evening prior to the fourth Saturday of each month, help is needed from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. to pack, and prepare the pantry space for that month's distribution. If you are interested in helping, please contact us. Donate clothes. GSM also operates a Clothes Closet at the same location. We need gently used clothing for all ages, infants to adults. Clothes can be dropped off on the third Saturday of each month from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., or the fourth Saturday from 9:00 10:30 a.m., or by appointment. The pantry and clothes closet are located in the Stokesdale Business Center, 8500 Ellisboro Road, Stokesdale NC. The entrance to use is on the back of the building, next to the loading dock.
