We offer an opportunity to come together in a small group to learn more about our faith. Sessions focus on the teachings and experience of Church and prepare individuals to celebrate the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist during the Easter season. There are separate sessions for children teens. You are welcome to participate in the process with your questions, your insights and your faith story in a warm accepting setting. 3 PRAYER OF POPE FRANCIS FOR THE JUBILEE Lord Jesus Christ, you have taught us to be merciful like the heavenly Father, and have told us that whoever sees you sees Him. Show us your face and we will be saved. Your loving gaze freed Zacchaeus and Matthew from being enslaved by money; the adulteress and Magdalene from seeking happiness only in created things; made Peter weep after his betrayal, and assured Paradise to the repentant thief. Let us hear, as if addressed to each one of us, the words that you spoke to the Samaritan woman: "If you knew the gift of God!" You are the visible face of the invisible Father, of the God who manifests his power above all by forgiveness and mercy: let the Church be your visible face in the world, its Lord risen and glorified. You willed that your ministers would also be clothed in weakness in order that they may feel compassion for those in ignorance and error: let everyone who approaches them feel sought after, loved, and forgiven by God. Send your Spirit and consecrate every one of us with its anointing, so that the Jubilee of Mercy may be a year of grace from the Lord, and your Church, with renewed enthusiasm, may bring good news to the poor, proclaim liberty to captives and the oppressed, and restore sight to the blind. We ask this of you, Lord Jesus, through the intercession of Mary, Mother of Mercy; you who live and reign with the Father and the Holy Spirit for ever and ever. Amen. Pew Update We have signed a contract for the new pews! Including the sales tax, delivery and installation the total will be $111,058. We are going make a space in the very middle of the church (leaving out one row) that will allow a walk-through aisle and allow for smaller configurations for smaller funerals, weddings and daily masses. We have had 46 sponsors who have now sponsored the pews in the church and cry room at $1,000 each. We have had another $11,000 donated from various gifts to the church. So we have now raised $56,000 of our total. Please consider giving a gift of $50, 100 or $200 to help with the pew project. This will serve our church for the next fifty years and be a nice way for us to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the new church building in December! Please make checks payable to St. Francis Xavier and mark them as pew project. Thank you.

6 PARISH SCHOOL OF RELIGION (PSR): Our new catechetical year, and we are off to a great start. There are no classes this Sunday, Labor Day Weekend.
