When we are four years old, our Dads can do anything. When we are seven, our Dads know everything. When we are fourteen, we are not sure our Dads know anything. When we are thirty, we like to find out what Dad thinks about it. At fifty, we wonder what Dad would have thought about it. At sixty-five, we wish we could talk it over with Dad once more. The ultimate compliment and challenge a Father can give his son or daughter is to encourage them to do something special with their lives. ST. DOMINIC-DELHI KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS Delhi Skirt Game Speaker Tuesday, June 20. You may have lived in Delhi your entire life, or perhaps you are new to the area, but how much do you know about one of our community s biggest events, the annual Delhi Skirt Game? Now is your chance to learn all about this great fund-raising event! The St. Dominic-Delhi Knights of Columbus are sponsoring a program featuring Sherri DeMoss, President of the Skirt Game committee. She will give a presentation on the history of the game, stories about the recipients, how the game is planned, and how it all comes together. The program will be held in O Connor Hall beginning at 7:30 p.m. After the presentation, light refreshments will be served. Everyone is invited! HOLY HOUR FOR THE DYING Join us for the Holy Hour for the Dying on the last Tuesday of each month. We will meet this month on June 27 at 7:00 p.m. in Room 2 of the Parish Center. PETER S PENCE COLLECTION June 24 and 25 Embarking on the fourth year of his pontificate, Pope Francis continues to call each of us to be a witness of charity. To love God and neighbor is not something abstract, he said, but profoundly concrete: it means seeing in every person the face of the Lord to be served, to serve him concretely. Pope Francis shows through his actions what it means to serve our brothers and sisters and give them the love of Christ. Let us follow his example of service so that all people might have the joy of receiving Jesus through our presence: And you are, dear brothers and sisters, the face of Jesus. The Peter s Pence Collection unites us in solidarity with the Holy Father and His works of charity toward those in need. Contributions to the Peter s Pence Collection allow the Holy Father to support victims of war and natural disasters and others most in need of assistance. Join Pope Francis and be a witness of charity throughout the world. Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick The Sacrament of the Sick is a healing sacrament of the Church. Anyone who is sick or elderly and in need of physical or emotional healing can come to this sacrament which will be communally celebrated annually. Those who would like to receive the sacrament before a hospital stay or surgery are invited to call the Parish Office to make arrangements. The sacrament is also available to those who may be near death. Please call the parish emergency line. Someone will respond to your call. Please inform the Parish Office when a member of the parish is hospitalized. Considering Entering the Catholic Church? RCIA is the process through which adults are fully initiated into the Catholic faith community. The process provides for different levels of entry. To obtain more information, call Deacon Mark Bardonaro at Infant Baptisms Attendance at a Parent Pre-Baptism Session is required. Call Theresa Eagan at , ext Sacrament of Reconciliation Every Saturday, 8:45 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., or by appointment. Sacrament of Matrimony One of the engaged or his/her parents must be a registered and active parishioner for six months prior to scheduling a wedding. Scheduling must take place at least six months in advance of the wedding. Weddings are not scheduled during Advent or Lenten Seasons. A marriage preparation program is required. Communion for the Sick and Homebound Please call the Parish Office to request this service.

So many people came out to help set up the Festival and many volunteers helped to run the Festival for the weekend. It is always wonderful to see that the Spirit is alive and well here at St. Dominic. Thank you to all the people who came and enjoyed the festivities, we re glad you came. It was wonderful seeing family and friends having good times together. We also want to thank Fr. Jim, Fr. Chris and Deacon Mark who give us such wonderful guidance. DOMINIC PARISH SCHOOL OF RELIGION (PSR) REGISTRATION FOR 2017/2018 The mission of the St. Dominic Parish Community is the same as the mission of the greater Church to bring about a connection with and response to God s love in our world and truly live out the Reign of God. We do this through the Sacraments, Scripture, Prayer and our interconnections with others the family, the Parish community of Faith and the larger community and world. We welcome all registered parish families whose children attend public schools to attend our Parish School of Religion (PSR). The PSR staff and teachers are here to assist parents in their task of raising their children in the Faith. Instruction in PSR is offered during the school year (September-May) for children age 3 through 8th grade. There is special emphasis on the sacramental years, usually 2nd and 7th and 8th grades, with added activities for parents and candidates. Registration for the 2017/2018 school year will be online. The registration site opens on Wednesday, June 21 and closes on Friday, August 25. All registrations for the 2017/2018 school year must be submitted by August 25. Access the online registration form via the Parish Website (www. stdominicdelhi.org). Click on the PSR Registration button on the left side. The cost for Preschoolers (ages 3, 4 and Kindergarten) is $20/per student. For grades 1-8, the cost is $50/per student, with a maximum of $150/per family. All fees are due at registration. A $10 late fee will be assessed if payment is not made in full by August 25. First day of Class: Preschool/Kindergarten:, September 17 at 9:30 a.m. Grades 1-5:, September 10 at 10:30 a.m. Grades 6-8: Tuesday, September 12 at 7:00 p.m. PSR calendars for grades 1-8 will be sent to you following registration. REQUIREMENTS FOR THOSE VOLUNTEERING WITH CHILDREN As a reminder, all volunteers are required to attend one VIRTUS live training session. You can attend this training at any location at a date/time that works best for you. Preregistration is required. Find training locations, registration details and steps to create your VIRTUS user account at The second requirement for volunteers is to complete an online background check request. Payment for this is by credit card or token at the time of your online request. Contact the organization for which you volunteer to get information on obtaining a token for payment. To initiate the online background check, sign in to your VIRTUS.org user account, click the Toolbox tab then click the selection.com background check link. The bus will pick us up at 10:30 a.m. at the Park n Ride parking lot (Waffle House) and drop us off at Findlay Market. The $8 cost includes transportation back and forth, and a streetcar ticket. Optional 30-minute Findlay Market Tour (history, present merchants, and future) costs $4 extra. Lunch will be on your own. The return bus will pick us up at 3:30 p.m. Tickets, a map of the streetcar route and stops will be provided, including points of interest and some restaurants. 4 Belterra Park Casino Thursday, August 17. The cost is $14 for Bus Riders, which covers the bus and driver s tip. We will leave the Park n Ride on Delhi Pike at 9:15 a.m. and return about 3:30 p.m. The cost for Car Riders is $10. All participants will receive $20 play money and a free buffet. VINCENT DE PAUL BUNDLE SUNDAY JUNE 24 AND 25 Are there items cluttering up your home that you know someone else would likely be able to use?
