This weekend is all about recharging and thanking God for the gifts that He has given us. We will have a special Mass on Labor Day (Monday, September 3). Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 am. Many of you will have the day off and I would like to encourage you to join us as we thank God for those many gifts He has given us. Bishop Donald Hying will be with us that day to celebrate Mass and to join us in the festivities. Mass will begin right at 11:00 am followed by food, music and games. Please note that on Sunday this will be our only Mass besides the Saturday evening one. I want to thank our entire planning committee and volunteers in advance for their hard work in making this possible. We are all very excited about this event and we all think this will be a great way to bring students and community members together for an awesome day of fun downtown. Stewardship Commission As individuals we are called to be good and generous stewards with God s manifold gifts. Tithing is the means whereby we have the opportunity to give thanks to God; with that in mind, the community of St. Teresa of Avila tithes $450 weekly.this week our titling will be donated to the Catholic Worker House in South Bend, In. Catholic Workers live a simple lifestyle in community, serve the poor, and resist war and social injustice. Most are grounded in the Gospel, prayer, and the Catholic faith. Are you a mom to a new born, toddler, grade schooler, high schooler or even a college student? Join us as we navigate together this thing called motherhood! Meetings will be held on Tuesday mornings or Wednesday evenings. Check saintt.com calendar for dates and times. Since 1982, the Foodbank of Northwest Indiana has been distributing more than 4.5 million meals each year to families in Porter and Lake Counties. They are proud to present the 2018 Hunger Hike which is a family-friendly walk/run event with proceeds being used to stock the shelves of local food pantries and soup kitchens. As an added bonus, the Foodbank has agreed to match dollar for dollar all money raised by St. Teresa s from this event and give it back as credit to be used for Café Manna! Not only is your $1 providing up to three meals to our neighbors in need, it is also benefiting our own soup kitchen! If you would like to give to this wonderful cause, here s how you can donate: 1.
