Intentions of St. Dominic Men s Society and Families VOTIVE LIGHTS Envelopes for requesting a Votive Light can be found on the Communion rail near the doors inside Church. On the front of the envelope you can designate an intention. The usual donation is $2 to cover the cost of the candle. Candles are lit on Thursday for the week. CINCINNATI, OHIO PARISH OFFICE CLOSED The St. Dominic Parish Office will be closed on Wednesday, July 4, GOLDENAIRES Emperor of China Terracotta Army Exhibit Final arrangements have been made. The date is Thursday, July 19. The cost will be $14 and includes the cost of the exhibit, bus and bus driver tip. We are going to eat at the restaurant at the Art Museum. Cost is on your own. We will leave the Park n Ride on Delhi Pike at 10:30 a.m. We still have several reservations left. Send in your payment to Maureen Vonderahe at 5659 Treeview Drive, Cincinnati, OH by July 5. The cost is $15 for bus riders and includes the bus driver s tip. The cost is $10 if you drive yourself and others. Perks are $15 play on card and a free buffet. REQUIREMENTS FOR THOSE VOLUNTEERING WITH CHILDREN As a reminder, all volunteers are required to attend one VIRTUS live training session. You can attend this training at any location at a date/time that works best for you. Preregistration is required. Find training locations, registration details and steps to create your VIRTUS user account at www. VIRTUS.org. The second requirement for volunteers is to complete an online background check request. Payment for this is by credit card or token at the time of your online request. Contact the organization for which you volunteer to get information on obtaining a token for payment. To initiate the online background check, sign in to your VIRTUS.org user account, click the Toolbox tab then click the selection.com background check link. Contact Theresa Eagan at teagan@stdominicdelhi.org or , ext. 481 with questions. Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick The Sacrament of the Sick is a healing sacrament of the Church. Anyone who is sick or elderly and in need of physical or emotional healing can come to this sacrament which will be communally celebrated annually. Those who would like to receive the sacrament before a hospital stay or surgery are invited to call the Parish Office to make arrangements. The sacrament is also available to those who may be near death. Please call the parish emergency line. Someone will respond to your call. Please inform the Parish Office when a member of the parish is hospitalized. Considering Entering the Catholic Church? RCIA is the process through which adults are fully initiated into the Catholic faith community. The process provides for different levels of entry. To obtain more information, call Deacon Mark Bardonaro at Infant Baptisms Attendance at a Parent Pre-Baptism Session is required. Call Theresa Eagan at , ext Sacrament of Reconciliation Every Saturday, 8:45 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., or by appointment. Sacrament of Matrimony One of the engaged or his/her parents must be a registered and active parishioner for six months prior to scheduling a wedding. Scheduling must take place at least six months in advance of the wedding. Weddings are not scheduled during Advent or Lenten Seasons. A marriage preparation program is required. May the Lord continue to bless you in your generosity! ST. DOMINIC NEWS HELP WELCOMED! Every Thursday morning after the 7:30 a.m. Mass volunteers clean the church. Sweeping, light mopping, dusting, taking care of flowers, candles, etc., all keeps our church beautiful. When enough men and women are working together, the job is finished in 45 minutes to an hour. The more people who are helping, the faster it s finished. There is no sign-up sheet; just come help, if and when you are able. You will truly be welcomed! ST. DOMINIC GOLF FUND RAISER The St. Dominic Golf Program will hold a Golf Fund Raiser on Saturday, July 28 at Delhi Par 3. Shotgun start at 10:00 a.m. $25 per golfer. 2-person scramble 3 clubs + putter (per person). Prizes: Closest to the Pin, Longest Putt, Closest to the Green in the Fairway (using any of your clubs). We will have a Basket Raffle and Split the Pot. Lunch to follow. Sponsor a hole for $50 or $100. PRAYER BLANKETS We have many prayer blankets blessed and sewn with love and prayers for those who will receive them. It is a symbol of our faith community s covering of prayer for the individual who receives it. This simple labor of love touches the lives of those who are going through difficult times. Prayer blankets can be picked up in the Parish Office between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday-Friday. MISCELLANEOUS DELHI SENIOR CENTER (647 Neeb Road) has a dance on the first of each month from 2:00-5:00 p.m. There is live music by Nelson. The cost is $6 per person and includes beer, soft drinks, potato chips, pretzels and popcorn. Everyone is welcome. The next dance is scheduled for, July 1. The Delhi Senior Center also has free Line Dancing on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 1:00 p.m. Come and have fun!

4 DELHI SENIOR SINGERS Boost your social life, kick those blues and have fun by joining the Delhi Senior Singers. If you are 50+, like music and like to sing, we are the place to be. FRANCIS SERAPH MINISTRIES is in HUGE need of volunteers to serve Breakfast and Dinner, Monday through Friday, to the Urban Poor in Over-the-Rhine. Shifts are 7:00-9:00 a.m. and 4:00 6:00 p.m. They are also in need of Volunteers for their Cooking for the Family Program on Tuesday Evenings, Wednesday Mornings, Thursday Evenings and Saturday Mornings. MINISTRY EDUCATION PROGRAM TriHealth is offering a ministry education program to persons interested in improving their pastoral care skills and the opportunity to enhance their ability to provide spiritual guidance. The program will take place at Good Samaritan Hospital on Thursday morning from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., September 13 October 25. They are accepting registrations. 5 ST. DOMINIC VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL Are you looking ahead to the end of summer and hoping to find something fun and faith filled for your children to do? Our Vacation Bible School is perfect! VBS will be held Monday thru Friday, July 30-August 3, from 6:00-9:00 p.m. Our theme for the week is Marvelous Mystery; The Mass Comes Alive. The goal of this week is to help the children better understand the Catholic Mass and deepen their love for Jesus in the Eucharist. Registration will be open until July 1st, for children in grades K-4. The fee is $10 per child. Children going into grades 5-8 may volunteer to help walk the younger students from station to station and encourage the younger kids to participate. You can register in the Gathering Space after all Masses this weekend. VBS is also looking for high school volunteers as well as many VIRTUS trained adults to lead groups from station to station, and to supervise the various stations! If you have completed VIRTUS, and are available each evening, from 5:30-9:00 p.m., your help is needed. I promise it is easy and FUN!
