Stewardship is about gratitude, rendering constant thanks, and being aware of how much we ve received. With that realization, giving from abundance becomes natural.

2 Third Sunday of Advent CHRISTMAS FLOWERS To help decorate our Church for Christmas, we invite our parishioners to contribute toward purchasing flowers in memory of a loved one. Christmas flower envelopes were enclosed in your regular Sunday envelope mailing. Names of those being remembered will be published in the bulletin. Deadline is no later than Monday December 18th for publication in our December 23rd bulletin. The rose candle is lit, and the second reading begins, Rejoice always! This upbeat mood can come to a full stop, however, when the requirement extends to giving thanks in all circumstances. I remember my friend, suffering blinding headaches after her third cesarean section, was also dealing with her crying newborn, the head lice her son brought home from kindergarten, and sewage overflow in her house after a ball had been flushed down the toilet. She cried, If I have one more circumstance, I will be giving thanks in an institution! I m convinced the only thing that gets us through terrible times is prayer without ceasing. This is not thanking God that this chaos is God s will, but that we are not in it alone. The One who came to be with us at Christmas is holding us in love. Gaudete! 3 Angels of Mercy Project This year we are focusing on the children in Chile. Our tree holds angels listing shoes, school supplies, and monetary gifts as well. Instructions regarding these gifts are in the back of church. Please call Margaret Mary Hite at the office if you have any questions. Room in the Inn needs overnight hosts! This ministry answers Jesus call to shelter the homeless and feed the hungry. The guests we serve can be quiet, exhausted, hungry, chatty, funny, and always interesting. We need two adult hosts per evening. Tuition Assistance for Catholic Education Just Got Easier On December 15, 2017, parents may begin to apply for tuition assistance for their children in grades K-12 in Catholic elementary and high schools. New this year, families must submit their application, 2016 Federal tax-return, 2016 W-2 s, and other non-taxable documentation along with the $25 processing fee by February 28, This user-friendly change requiring only the 2016 tax information should allow families to get their application in early. Divorced. Catholic. Now What? Journey of Hope is a unique 15-week divorce recovery ministry program addressing concerns of divorced or separated Catholics. It offers support on important issues that result from divorce. The emphasis on prayer, scripture, and the teachings of the Catholic Church lead to healing and a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. The next 15-week session begins on Thursday, January 11, 2018 but participants can register all the way through February 1, 2018 and join the program in progress up until that time.
