Death and burial were not the end of the Jesus story. Because of Jesus, death and burial will not be the end of our stories! We are going to live forever! God is gracious! God s desire and passion from all eternity is to share divine life with you and me! Who could have imagined! You can attend this training at any location at a date/time that works best for you. Pre-registration is required. Find training locations, registration details and steps to create your VIRTUS user account at The second requirement for volunteers is to complete an online background check request. Payment for this is by credit card or token at the time of your online request. Contact the organization for which you volunteer to get information on obtaining a token for payment. To initiate the online background check, sign in to your VIRTUS.org user account, click the Toolbox tab then click the selection.com background check link. Contact Theresa Eagan at teagan@stdominicdelhi.org or , ext. 481 with questions. Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick The Sacrament of the Sick is a healing sacrament of the Church. Anyone who is sick or elderly and in need of physical or emotional healing can come to this sacrament which will be communally celebrated annually. Those who would like to receive the sacrament before a hospital stay or surgery are invited to call the Parish Office to make arrangements. The sacrament is also available to those who may be near death. Please call the parish emergency line. Someone will respond to your call. Please inform the Parish Office when a member of the parish is hospitalized. Considering Entering the Catholic Church? RCIA is the process through which adults are fully initiated into the Catholic faith community. The process provides for different levels of entry. To obtain more information, call Deacon Mark Bardonaro at Infant Baptisms Attendance at a Parent Pre-Baptism Session is required. Call Theresa Eagan at , ext Sacrament of Reconciliation Every Saturday, 8:45 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., or by appointment. Sacrament of Matrimony One of the engaged or his/her parents must be a registered and active parishioner for six months prior to scheduling a wedding. Scheduling must take place at least six months in advance of the wedding. Weddings are not scheduled during Advent or Lenten Seasons. A marriage preparation program is required. 3 EASTER SUNDAY OF THE RESURRECTION OF THE LORD APRIL 16, 2017 EASTER SUNDAY ENCOUNTER THE RISEN CHRIST We prayed, fasted and gave alms and now we celebrate Easter joy! Our Lenten journey with CRS Rice Bowl ends as we encounter our risen Lord. We reflect on our brothers and sisters whom we have walked with in India, Zambia, El Salvador, Mexico, Ethiopia and Hawaii. And we commit to bring Easter joy to each person we meet in our daily lives. If you haven t returned your rice bowl yet, you can bring it to the Parish Office Monday-Friday between 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. COMMUNITY DINNER Our next Community Dinner is scheduled for April 20 in O Connor Hall from 5:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. Hope to see everyone there!!! ST. DOMINIC PTO SPRING BOGO BOOK FAIR Mark your calendars, the BOGO Book Fair will be here April in O Connor Hall. ALL books will be buy-one, get-one-free! The lesser of the two items will be free. Please come out to support our PTO with this fun spring fund raiser for our school library! The Book Fair will be open on Saturday, April 22, after the 4:30 p.m. Mass and will be open after all morning Masses on, April 23. This is the perfect occasion to stock up on some great books for summer reading! We hope to see you there!!! WE NEED GOODIES FOR OUR BASKETS By goodies I mean we need good stuff to put into the baskets for our Baskets & More at the Festival. Popular items are gift cards to restaurants, tickets to sporting events (Baseball, Football, Basketball...) maybe things for your garden or yard, entertainment like Kings Island, electronic items that challenge your dexterity, and physical fitness items such as a tracker. Anything you would like to win, we bet someone else would want to win it too. If you have limited funds, you can donate money and we will use it with other donations to buy what you might like to win. To donate, either drop it off at the Parish Office, put it in an envelope marked Baskets or call Martha at to pick it up. KROGER RE-ENROLLMENT UPDATE GREAT NEWS!!!! As of April 1, 2017, you will no longer have to re-enroll your Kroger Plus Card to earn money for the St. Dominic Tuition Reduction Program. This is FANTASTIC news!!! If your Kroger Plus Card is linked to St. Dominic, you do not have to re-enroll this year. Your card will stay linked! If you have a Kroger Plus Card that is not linked to St. Dominic, but would like to help our school, at absolutely no cost to you, please follow the instructions that were included in the April edition of The TORCH to link your card to give back to St. Dominic s Tuition Reduction Program. DOMINIC NEWS CUB SCOUT SIGN-UPS St. Dominic Cub Scout Pack 483 will be holding Spring sign-ups on Tuesday April 25 in the Parish Gathering Place from 6:30-8:00 p.m. We welcome all boys who will be in K through Grade 5 next school year. Cub Scouting is a family program that combines outdoor activities, sports, academics and more in a fun and exciting program. Pack 483 plans many activities for our families to take part in including snow tubing, Reds games, Pinewood Derby, camping, hiking, bowling and many more. Cub Scouting builds a sense of belonging, self-confidence and leadership skills. Boys learn citizenship, character and fitness development while spending quality time with families and having a lot of fun! Don t let your son miss the adventure! VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR OUR BEREAVEMENT MINISTRY The mission of the Bereavement Ministry is to reach out with compassion, understanding and comfort when meeting with grieving families upon the death of their loved one and provide an opportunity for making choices of scripture readings and music for the Mass of Christian Burial. The Bereavement Minister conveys all necessary information about the deceased, selection of readings and music to the presiding priest. Also, assists the priest before, during and after the funeral mass. Meetings are held in February, May, September and October in the Parish Center. If you are interested in joining our ministry, call Carole in the Parish Office at , ext Our next meeting will be May 16 at 6:30 p.m. in Room 1 of the Parish Center. PRAYER BLANKETS We have many prayer blankets blessed and sewn with love and prayers for those who will receive them. It is a symbol of our faith community s covering of prayer for the individual who receives it. This simple labor of love touches the lives of those who are going through difficult times. Prayer blankets can be picked up in the Parish Office between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday-Friday.

What Families Need to Know is a care and support workshop for family caregivers of people with Alzheimer s disease or other forms of dementia. Topics are presented by experts in the fields of medicine, law, nursing and social work. This education series is available to family caregivers of people with dementia and is offered at no charge. 5 ADULT EDUCATION PROGRAM We have two more sessions of the St. Dominic Adult Education Program. These sessions will be held in the Faith Sharing Room of the Parish Center immediately following the 9:30 a.m. Mass. The Adult Education sessions are led by parishioner Joe Zalot who has earned his PhD in systematic theology/ethics and is currently the Regional Director of Ethics and Spiritual Care Mercy Health-Cincinnati. April 23: Sacrament of Marriage (part 1) What s marriage for, and why is it a lifetime commitment? April 30: Sacrament of Marriage (part 2) Why can t we just live together why is it one man and one woman? There is no charge and no preregistration needed, all are welcome! Please plan to join us!
