Please list your deceased loved ones in the space provided and return the envelope to us soon as you can. Your intentions will be placed on the altar throughout the month of November. There is no need to enclose any money. If you do include an offering, a Mass will be celebrated (here or elsewhere) for your specified intention or for your deceased loved ones (for each $10 offering). Please call the office if you have any questions ( ). It is not too late for to give to the annual ampaign for uman Development & Black and Indian Missions. This supports programs and services for persons with low income, both in N and around the U.S. Grants support programs that address community problems, increasing educational opportunities, and the creation of jobs. A portion of this collection also supports Black and Indian mission in the U.S. Please be as generous as you can.

That the language of love and dialogue may always prevail over the language of conflict. TOUGT FOR TE WEEK The Day of Reckoning. Today s readings talk of the end of the world, that day when we will stand before God and give an account of our lives. According to the Book of Daniel, this should be a time of unsurpassed distress. owever, we ve come to see God as One who loves and forgives us unconditionally. And we also have trouble seeing ourselves as sinners: we re trying our best; we re at least as good as everyone else. God surely doesn t expect us to be perfect. As long as we lead a decent life and are trying to be better, why should we worry? God s not going to send everyone to hell, is e? But here s the problem: if we can save ourselves by being pretty good, why did Jesus come to earth in the first place and why did e go through that horrible Passion? Jesus spent three years trying to teach his disciples (and us) that we cannot save ourselves. Sadly, our self-centeredness (which is the root of our selfishness) makes us believe we can. Our goal in life should not be to make it into heaven: it should be to be with God for all eternity. The focus should be on a relationship, not a destination. In other words, instead of asking: ow can I Servers Lectors Eucharistic Ministers Greeters get to heaven?, I should be asking: Who is God for me? e s my creator, provider, guide, sustainer, forgiver, mentor, benefactor, advocate, lover, best friend and so much more. My goal in life should be to develop the ways in which I am most like God (since I am made in is image) so that I can become more and more like im. And I should also eliminate those aspects of my life (and personality) that are not God-like at all. The better I succeed at these two projects, the better prepared I will be to spend eternity with im. My goal in life should not be preparing for an unending retirement in a place where everything is perfect (heaven?). It should be improving myself so that I will be as close to possible to the person God has called me to be. The closer I am to God, the more I will experience peace and joy. But I can only go so far. I must rely on God s grace, mercy and forgiveness to bridge the gap that will still remain between God and me. The holiest person on earth would still need a Savior! The Knights of olumbus are attending the 10:30 AM mass in Franklin as a group and participating in the liturgy this Sunday, November 18. offee and donuts will be served after the mass in the hapel. RISTMAS FAIR & OOKIE WALK The atholic Daughters are hosting their annual fair at Immaculate onception hurch, 9 Bonney Street, Penacook, on Saturday, December 1st from 9 am until 1 pm in the church hall. omemade cookies are sold by the pound! Take a chance at the raffle table filled with donated items. Listen to hristmas music while shopping or enjoying the soup luncheon! The parish hristmas Tree will be going up soon! This year we would like to try something new we are inviting families to make their own ornaments or purchase an ornament for your family to put on the tree. You are welcome to pick up the ornament after the season. Be creative make it something that represents your family. There is no limit to the number of ornaments you add to the tree we have noticed each child likes to put his own up! Or you can use the ornament we prepared for you last year. WINTER AT ST. GABRIEL S Snow ancellation: we don t cancel Mass because of snow. As long as there is one person in church besides the priest, we can have Mass. The rectory is just a few feet from the church (in Franklin). Tilton is just 3 miles away. Parking: We will clean our lots as soon as possible after a storm. Please be careful on the walkways and driveways. andicap Access: There are a half dozen handicap spaces at each hurch. Please leave them for those who need them and please park so that you don t take up more than one space. Use the ramp to enter the church: it s the first thing we salt & sand! Entrances: most of our entrances are cement or granite. Both surfaces are slippery and hard to keep safe. Watch your step! If you find icy spots, tell someone or spread sand or salt. There is a bucket inside every doorway. A lot of effort is made to keep the floors in the churches clean. Please make an effort to use the rugs at all the entrances to stomp and wipe your feet.
