2 Corpus Christi June 02 & 03, 2018 Travel Group Reminder: Next Sunday, June 10 beginning at 4PM is our last meeting before we embark on our trip to Paris and Rome. We will be meeting in the Boutin Center in Tilton, beginning at 4 PM and this will be followed by our Italian meal. This is a great to get together with our fellow travelers. We will have information on the itinerary, hotels, flights and so much more!. Please plan to join us! The very important Parish meeting is next Sunday, JUNE 10; following the 10:30 Mass in Franklin. Diocesan personnel will be present to explain and answer questions regarding the proposed changes to Confirmation and First Eucharist Programs. This is a very important meeting for our parish! The changes will affect us all. We encourage everyone to attend this meeting. Light lunch will be provided prior to the meeting. Memorial Day Decorations will need to be removed by Monday, June 11 if you wish to keep them. Thank you to those who decorated, those who donated flowers, those who cleaned up and especially to those who took the time to show up and sit with the Lord. Our parish benefits from participating in these spiritual events. Because of everyone s efforts we are able to have this devotion annually. Thank You! When entering St. Paul s this weekend for mass please observe quiet & be mindful of the people attending Adoration in the day chapel (as part of our LX Hours Celebration). Congratulations to those newly ordained to the transitional diaconate! While there was no priest ordained this year, on Saturday, May 26, Bishop Libasci ordained two of the seminarians to the transitional diaconate: Adrian Frackowiak and David Wong. Congratulations to them both! Please keep them in your prayers as they complete their last year of their journey to priesthood. If you have not already done so you, you can still join the 300 Club. It is a steal at $60 a year. The proceeds help us meet our bills during the year. And you get to enjoy our annual dinner next April. The May drawing for the 300 Club is this week!

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK HOW WE REACHED THIS POINT! This weekend, longer a family value. When you throw in the clergy scandals, the lack of community support for an interest in the every parish in our Diocese (and many others) are focusing on our severe vocation shortage. We are sharing priests, priesthood and the current clergy s ever-increasing workload and uncertain future, the current dilemma should be closing churches and nervously looking at graying and dying priests who are not being replaced. How did we get no surprise. Where do we go from here? The quick fix here? There are many causes and even more theories. would be married priests or ordained women. NEW CHURCH ENVELOPES You will run out of offertory envelopes at the end of June. Your new sets for will be available at the back of both churches by the middle of the month. Thank you for your continued use of the envelopes. Have you considered E-Giving check the web site for details. Save the date: The Strawberry Festival, Saturday, July 7. We will need help cutting strawberries, setting up tables (Thursday evening), peeling potatoes (Saturday morning), biscuit bakers, people willing to cook the donated turkeys, servers, and clean-up. Watch the bulletin for the specific times as we get closer to the festival. You can contact chairperson, Bette Paquet at for more information. Holy Trinity School is looking to find new members for their School Advisory Board. Since Holy Trinity is a regional school, they are looking for more diversity within the board and are hoping to pick up new members from the Lakes Region Deanery parishes. If you would like to be nominated to the Advisory Board, please send a letter stating your interest, along with a resume to: Principal Mary Jane Cooney, 50 Church Street, Laconia, NH or to: mcooney@htsnh.org. This might be a great way for a retired educator to give back to the church and the community! What s Happening at St. Gabriel s New tractor: our 20-year old tractor needs to go. Its replacement should be here this week. The 4-year loan on the new machine will be paid from cemetery receipts. Tilton Rectory: last winter, the furnace failed and the roof leaked. We had water damage everywhere! The roof is currently being replaced. After we ve finished the repairs, we ll have to see how we can best utilize this building. Religious Ed. Program: The Charter School is growing and needs more classrooms. Our religion program is changing and will also need more space. We are therefore moving it to the Boutin Center. This will make better use of both buildings. Youth Program: we have hired Karen Ober to help us establish a ministry for our children and young adults. With Confirmation being moved to Grade three, we will need more than classroom instruction to provide adequate faith formation for our youth. We hope to have something underway by September.
