The holiday itself is traditionally celebrated on 6th day January and commemorates revelation Lord Jesus Christ to world. The season Epiphany extends from January 6th until Ash Wednesday, begng Lenten season. Along with Christmas and Easter, Epiphany is one three oldest Christian festivals and was celebrated as early as latter half second century. One major events associated with Epiphany season is wise men s (or, Magi's) visit to baby Jesus (Matw 2). The Magi were least likely people to recognize Jesus as Savior. They were astrologers who were immersed an entirely different religion. In fact, accordg to Old Testament, wise men were dividuals who led people astray from true God (Isaiah 47). But, noneless, Magi come to Bethlehem and bow before Jesus. And, what do y fd re? They do not fd condemnation. Rar, y fd a kg who is gracious and kd to m. This is a structured hour prayer that focuses on a different attribute God every week with time dedicated to tercessory prayer for our children. We are askg all volunteers, children and participants to be flexible and patient regardg this new mistry format, as we will be keepg to our 45 mute Christian Formation timetable for classes. Logistically, this will mean that if parents are attendg second service and choose to send ir children to Grace Kids classes, parents will need to collect ir children at 11:30 and brg m to remader service. We will keep this format for rest January and evaluate logistics early February. Aga, we ask for your patience as we acclimate to this new rhythm and make adjustments as needed. What is God s purpose for my life? Why are people so amazg and so disappotg? Why am I so amazg and so disappotg? Is re realistic hope for substantial change Christ? How are men and women supposed to relate to one anor? The material covered this class is foundational for Christian life. Garfield High School Wter Drive LAST CALL: Drive ends today High school students have so many challenges already; n add stress beg homeless. We are collectg basic needs and cold wear items for homeless students at Garfield High School to extend care to m. More details to follow early Grief and Loss Support Group First Sunday each month at 9:0010:20 AM Classroom #218 (down hallway to left sanctuary) This mistry provides a time and space to share our grief and loss with one anor, so that we can be consoled knowg that we are not alone our sufferg. If you are experiencg grief over death a loved one, fertility, loss health, difficult family dynamics, loss a job, or anor loss, jo us. There is no grief or loss too big or too small. The participants simply listen to, and pray for, each person that shares. A moderator describes group guideles at start each meetg.
