Exposition at 12 Noon: Adoration until 7pm: Benediction at 7pm BAPTISMS: All Baptism arrangements for English Baptisms must be made at the rectory office beforehand. All arrangements for Spanish Baptisms may be made with Deacon Norberto Ojeda after 12:30 Sunday Mass or at the Spanish Baptism preparation meeting. All parents & godparents are expected to be believing & practicing Christians & promise to raise the baptized child in the Catholic Church. At least one parent & godparent MUST be a practicing Catholic Christian. English Baptisms are at 2:30pm on the First & Fourth Sunday of each month. The must attend preparation meeting for parents & godparents is on the 4th Monday of the month, at 7pm, at the rectory. Spanish Baptisms are at 1pm on the Second Saturday of each month, or after the 12:30pm Mass on the Second Sunday of each month. The must attend preparation meeting for parents & godparents is on the 1st Monday of each month, at 7pm, at the rectory. WED- DINGS: Arrangements should be made at the rectory with a parish priest or deacon at least four months before the wedding. Normally weddings are for parishioners, but special situations will be considered. We recommend a Wedding Mass for practicing Catholics. We recommend a Wedding Ceremony for non-practicing Catholics or mixed religion couples. Both are valid marriages. A priest is necessary for a Wedding Mass. QUINCEANERA: To have a Quinceanera Mass, a candidate must have been Confirmed & received First Holy Communion. Others will have the Prayer Service & Blessing. A deacon can preside at a Prayer Service & Blessing. All Quinceaneras must be baptized as Catholic Christians. Arrangements must be made at the rectory with a priest or deacon at least two months before. FUNERALS: Arrangements can usually be made with the rectory office by the funeral director. We have the Book of Funeral Readings at the rectory for families who wish to look them over. A priest or deacon will usually attend the wake. SICK CALLS: If someone needs to be Anointed, please call the rectory when they are seriously ill, don t wait too long. If someone homebound wishes Holy Communion, please call the rectory. It will usually be brought by a Minister of Care. NEW PARISHIONERS: Welcome to Sacred Heart Parish! Please register in the rectory office to be counted! CHANGE OF ADDRESS: If you leave the parish or move to a new address, please notify the rectory as soon as possible PARISH FOOD PANTRY: Open Saturday s 10am-12 noon. 3 Easter 2013 This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad! Once again we celebrate the Resurrection of the Christ, the Son of God, Jahweh come among us! The church bells ring, the choirs sing and everyone steps with a bouncier gait that shows we are a redeemed people! Let the Alleluias ring out, and all of us celebrate the hope and joy of Easter! This Sunday s bulletin contains a special Easter insert. We hope that you find it informative. Most of my thoughts about the Feast of Easter were contained in this year s Easter letter, which was mailed to all registered parishioners. I hope everyone got their copy. The only thing to add is to make everyone aware that the Easter Season begins today and runs until the Feast of Pentecost! The Easter Cycle comes to an end with the descent of the Holy Spirit (the Third Person of God) upon the apostles and the beginnings of the Catholic Church in the world. In between we savor the presence of the Risen Lord for 50 days! The Second Sunday of Easter, April 7th, is Divine Mercy Sunday and also the day to give in our Rice Bowls. Please put them in the boxes at the Shrines of Mary and Joseph at the front of church. The Catholic Relief Services thank you for your donations! Our thanks to everyone who donated Easter lilies in memory of loved ones to decorate our church for Easter. May the Risen Lord bless the loved ones and those who remember them with such a nice tribute!!! In case anyone needs an Easter envelope to make their Easter Offering to Sacred Heart, envelopes are in the bulletin racks at the doors of church. Thank You. I hope everyone prayed for good weather for our Easter Egg hunt after the 9am Mass today! I hope the bunny left a lot of eggs behind for the little ones! Fr.
