2 Dear Parishioners and Visitors, This is the week that the priests and deacons of the Diocese of Syracuse come together with the Bishop for a week of convocation prayer, talks, confraternity. Keep our clergy in your prayers this week as our need for confraternity and support of each other is needed now more than ever. I want to take this opportunity to ask you to mark your calendars for the 2018 Parish Mission that will be taking place at OLGC and St. Ambrose on October 1,2, & 3. Fr. Francis Pompei, OFM will present to us three nights of inspirational talks and prayer to help us in our daily lives as Catholics living in a stressful world today. Fr. Pompei will preach at all the Masses the weekend before the Mission to inspire you to come, but I am asking you in advance of that to please mark your calendars for this parish event. Each night will run precisely one hour, beginning at 7pm and ending at 8pm. I have had parish missions in the past but most of them have been in the spring, just as things are winding down before summer. Rather than doing that again, I feel that just as things are getting underway in the parishes, there no better time to rekindle the fire and regain enthusiasm for our faith than now! So, please plan on coming on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights Oct 1-3. It will be worthwhile, I promise. More information to come! Thanks, and God bless, Fr. All are Welcome! Fr. Michael Announces a Trip Fr. Michael is planning a trip to Spain and France, through the Pyrennes Mountains from the Atlantic Ocean to the Mediterranean Sea, with two nights in Lourdes France, October 1-10, He has secured Tom Doyle (our beloved tour guide who led our Ireland trip) to guide us again. This will be a very beautiful trip in a very unique area of the world, with visits to the homes of St. Ignatius of Loyola and St. Francis Xavier, a wine tasting, a visit to one the most beautiful active Benedictine monasteries in the world, a stop in Andorra, one of the smallest nations in the world, and two nights in Barcelona. There is an information night planned for Tuesday, September 25 at 7pm in the OLGC Church Hall for any who might be interested. Additionally, there is a trip webpage as well at This is really going to be an excellent adventure so Fr. Michael urges all interested to please come! RCIA: Have you been worshipping with us, but never officially took steps to become Catholic? Have you been away from the church and have now returned, but want to know more? Have you been a Catholic all your life, but never celebrated all the Sacraments of Initiation? (Baptism, Confirmation, & Eucharist). If any of the above questions apply to you, the RCIA process can help answer them. We are hosting a RCIA information session located in the OLGC Parish House, (green & white home at the far end of OLGC school) this Sunday, September 16th following the 10:00 am OLGC Mass. 5 OUTREACH CORNER: Outreach Ministry OLGC FOOD PANTRY NEEDS: For The Pantry Soup, Canned Vegetables & Canned Potatoes OLGC is no longer accepting coupons. OLGC 2018 Job Fair will be held on October 10th, 3:00 pm - 6:30 pm. If you are a business owner and would like to participate in the Job Fair please Outreach-olgc@stny.rr.com or call the rectory and leave a message for Karen with your name, business name and address. We will send a registration form to you to complete. Deadline is 9/30/18 to sign up but there is limited space so please sign up asap if interested.
