2 SACRAMENTAL PREPARATION The Bishop has sent a directive that those children in grade 2 and up will be prepared for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist. Therefore this coming year ( ) all families with children in grade 2 and up will be able to register for the Sacraments. Registration forms are now available in the entrance of the church with more details. Deadline for registration is Wed., October 24th. Christian love means two things at once: to recognize the Lord in one s neighbor and to recognize one s neighbor in the Lord. ADRIENNE VON SPEYR from Lumina and New Lumina FRIENDSHIP MEAL.. will be on Sunday, October 21st at 4:30 p.m. (Coffee served at 4:00 p.m.) and is being hosted by Volunteers in the parish. WORLD MISSION SUNDAY OCTOBER 21, 2018 With Youth we proclaim the Gospel to all Today, on WORLD MISSION SUNDAY, we are invited to celebrate our mission s vocation, to pray for the people who are actively engaged in mission, and to generously contribute to our worldwide mission solidarity fund through this collection. Your gift on this day helps: *People in remote villages, towns and cities, through he witness and work of missionaries and local priests; * Children, the elderly, refugees, the sick, and orphans through the services of religious Sisters and Brothers; *To bring the Gospel to the poorest of our human family; *Catechists proclaim the message of hope and peace that only Christ can give. Marie Adoration Chapel located at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church The Chapel is open from 6:00 a.m. until Midnight. Anyone can drop in for a visit during that time; however, we do need adorers committed to a weekly visit for an hour. Parish Donation Envelopes for 2019 Soon we will be preparing the parish donation envelope boxes for 2019, if you presently do not have parish envelopes and would liked to begin using them, there are boxes of envelopes in the entrance of the church. Please be sure to put your full name, address & phone number on the first envelope used. Those using envelopes in 2018 will automatically be included for envelopes in If you would like to know more about the Bank Withdrawal Donation Plan, please contact the parish office, Attention Pre-authorized Withdrawal Donation Plan Those donating through the pre-authorized plan, if you would like envelopes for the Special Collections for 2019, please leave a message for Cathy at the parish office. We invite each parish to provide us with 10 photographs/pictures and a short history of your parish to be included in a multi-media presentation as part of the history of Catholicism in Sault Ste. Marie and area. Please include such things as: when established, significant events (rebuilding, fire, addition etc) description of parish community (then and now). We will be doing a request and call out for photographs, pictures and artifacts related to our Catholic history. We will do this in partnership with Julia Piskiewicz, Director/Curator of the Sault Ste. Marie Museum. Information will be sent out in the next few weeks, and, as always we appreciate all you can do to help us in the task. We will also be requesting an opportunity to set up a table at your coffee hour after mass to inform and involve your parishioners in this exciting project. Any questions? We are here to assist.
