ANOINTING OF THE SICK If you are sick and go to the hospital, please call the parish office This will allow us to arrange that you have the Sacrament of the Sick and a Pastoral Visit. Also, Eucharist is brought once a week to those in the hospital by a Pastoral Team member.

2 Remembering the Dead We are inviting parishioners to bring in a picture of loved ones to place on our Remembrance Table at the entrance of the Church (the picture must be no larger than 3 X 5 ). There will be the Book of Life on a stand near the display. We have listed all those buried from our parish in the book. We invite you to enter the name of your loved ones, who have died this year outside of our parish. Are you a man looking for a prayer group of men only, who meet once a month to reflect and share on God s word as it is expressed in their lives? If yes, then the Christian Men s Group invites you to join us this coming Wednesday at 7:00 pm in the Blessed Margaret room as we meet to share God s message of His love through the next weekend s Sunday readings. For more information, contact Serge Dugas at Upcoming Event On Thursday, Nov., 17 th, 2016, Alex Schadenberg, the Director of Euthanasia Prevention Coalition, will be in Sault Ste. Marie. He will be presenting the documentary The Euthanasia Deception at in the Great Lakes Room at the Quattro Hotel, 229 Great Northern Road. A question and answer period will follow along with coffee and dessert. This is a no charge event, free will offering. For more information call Roberta (705) Eucharistic Adoration Ministry of Sault Ste. Marie Adoration Chapel Located at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church The Roman Catholic community of the City of Sault Ste. Marie is privileged to have an Adoration Chapel where Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament is present at all times. This Chapel is located in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church at 114 MacDonald Avenue. We are running into difficulties where a lot of the Adorers are getting to an age where they are unable to attend the Chapel due to sickness or lack of transportation. The Chapel is open from 6:00 a.m. until Midnight. Anyone can drop in for a visit during that time; however, we do need adorers committed to a weekly visit for an hour. We urgently require an Adorer for the hours of: Wednesday: 5pm-6pm; Friday: 9pm-10pm Sunday: 6pm-7pm & 8pm 9pm Please call one of the following coordinators of the Chapel if you would like to come to the Chapel to experience the peace and tranquility of spending one hour weekly with Jesus: Susanne Quinn-Perron ; Angela Rasaiah ; and Raffaela Medaglia C hristmas Flower Memorials: Donations to the Memorial Flower gift fund will be used to purchase flowers and decorations for the church and Sanctuary during the Christmas season. The Church will be decorated in memory of your loved one and their name will be published in our Christmas Bulletin. Our 10:00 p.m. Christmas Eve Mass will be offered for them. All donations will be credited to your income tax receipt at year end. ***Note there are envelopes for the FLOWER FUND located on the table in the entrance of the Church or if you use parish donations envelopes there is a special envelope for Dec 11th). 4 Delivery of PARISH MONTHLY FOOD DONATIONS to Vincent Place The parish is in need for a person (s) to assist in the delivery of the monthly food donations that we receive for the Soup Kitchen at Vincent Place. The food collection is taken on the 1st Sunday of the month & usually on the Monday following the food would be transferred to Vincent Place. If you can assist, please see Fr. Paul. The parish would like to JOANNE, JOE, JULIA & JOSIE MANCUSO for their assistance in the delivery of the monthly food donations to Vincent Place. However, because they are unable to continue, we will need people who can continue this ministrty. Needed: Volunteers for 2 hrs of your time Do you want to do something that is satisfying, pleasing to God and of great service to your Christian seniors at Van Daele? Become a volunteer, to help make it possible for the elderly residents to celebrate a Mass at Van Daele. Your commitment is approx. 2 hours of your time a month. The only qualification required is your desire to help someone in need. You don t need special skills. All you need is a love of your neighbours. You can contact Betty Boissineau Pastoral Care Ministers for Van Daele: The New Schedules for the Ministry to Van Daele (January to June 2017) will be prepared in November, please contact Betty with any special requests by November 30th. The schedule for 2017 January to June will be sent out by December 16th. PARISH DONATION ENVELOPES 2017 Parish Donation Envelopes for 2017 will be prepared in November and distributed in December. If you presently do not have parish donation envelopes and would liked to begin using them, there will be a Sign-up form on the counter in the entrance of the church, or if you would like to know more about the Bank Pre-authorized Withdrawal Donation Plan, please contact the parish office, Pre-authorized Withdrawal Donation Plan Those donating through the pre-authorized plan, if you would like envelopes for the Special Collections for 2017 put name on the Sign-Up form for 2017 and mark Special Envelopes 2017 only ; then when the new envelope boxes for 2017 are distributed your box of special envelopes will be included for you. We, as a parish will assist them in this way; We will begin next weekend and end December 4.
