ANOINTING OF THE SICK If you are sick and go to the hospital, please call the parish office This will allow us to arrange that you have the Sacrament of the Sick and a Pastoral Visit. Also, Eucharist is brought once a week to those in the hospital by a Pastoral Team member. ON CALL PRIEST A priest is available in the city for emergencies 24/7. Thank you Denise Armstrong CWL President On Earth Day, Pope Francis tweeted Let us follow the example of St Francis of Assisi and take care of our common Home. From poisoning and injuring marine life to disrupting human hormones, from littering our beaches and landscapes to clogging our waste streams and landfills, the exponential growth of plastics is now threatening the survival of our planet. In response, Earth Day 2018 is dedicated to providing the information and inspiration needed to fundamentally change human attitude and behavior about plastics. Our parish encourages all of its parishioners to examine their use of plastics. Prime Minister Theresa May has announced that her government is banning plastic straws, cotton swabs and other single-use items with the aim of eradicating avoidable plastic waste by 2042 as part of a "national plan of action." Prime Minister Justin Trudeau recently told reporters in London at the end of a three-country foreign tour: "We have made the protection of our oceans, specifically looking at plastics in the ocean, one of the key themes of our G7 presidency and I look forward to gathering with the other G7 leaders to discuss this issue and the various solutions that they have put forward," CWL Giant Garage and Bake Sale June 1, 2 & 3 in the church hall.
