The majority of them are currently in some of the poorest countries on the planet. What can we do? This year, Development and Peace Caritas Canada is proposing several ways to take action: sign the Action Card which you will receive at Mass this weekend and educate your family and friends on the root causes of forced migration. Every action counts. PARISH FOOD DRIVE wishes to remind all parishioners that next weekend, Dec., 1 & 2 is the monthly food drive for St Vincent Place. Their shelves are nearly bare, so please be as generous as you can with your donations of non-perishable food items. Let's help them feed the hungry. 5 As members of Life is Precious Ministry, we encourage you to answer the call of the late Archbishop Fulton Sheen, to spiritually adopt a child in the womb who is in danger of being aborted. To do this, give this baby a name and pray for him or her. There are slips at the entrance of the church on which to write the chosen name of your baby for whom you will be praying. Prayer cards are also available. A Mass will be celebrated for these babies on December 28th. Fact: Since it s legalization in 1969, 4 million Canadian babies have died from elective abortions. (Campaign Life Coalition) As The Word Among Us expresses the love of Mary for her Son Jesus, it invites us to prepare our hearts amidst the busyness of the Advent season. What better way to prepare for the coming of Jesus at Christmas, but to sit with Him in the quietness of the Adoration Chapel to thank and praise Him for all that we have. Jesus invites you to come with your mother, your father, your children, grandchildren, friends and spend 5 minutes, 10 minutes, however long you wish. Those who spend time with Him, can tell you stories of the many blessings they have received and as the saying goes, you can t out give the Giver. The Chapel hours are 6:00 a.m. to 12 midnight, 7 days a week. Spend some time with Jesus. ADVENT DAY OF CONFESSIONS 2017 Prepare your hearts, prepare the Way of the Lord. The Catholic Parishes of Sault Ste. Marie present an Advent Day of Confessions on Thursday, December 13 from 8:30 am 8:00 pm at Precious Blood Cathedral. Various priests will be available all day for the Sacrament of Reconciliation. As we prepare for coming of the Lord at Christmas, take this opportunity to encounter God's mercy through this Sacrament. Warmth and Comfort". We are being asked to donate socks for men, women and children, jars of peanut butter and boxes of crackers. CWL is sponsoring a program for the homeless.a tote will be located in the entrance of the church until the end of December for donations. Thank you. Winter Woollies Thank you to all who contributed knitted items for our Winter Woollies Program! Through the courtesy of Bearskin Airlines, we were able to ship off 7 boxes of knitted goods up to Thunder Bay, where they will be picked up and distributed to the northern communities. We were also able to keep some knitted items which were distributed to Breton House, St. Vincent de Paul and SAH. We have plenty of yarn, so please continue to knit!
