First, and above all else, we thank Lauren Telep, Chairwoman, for the endless amount of hours of dedication and experience to make this Rummage Sale so outstanding: Gathering items from yard sales, Church sales and neighbors, accepting items at the school, getting the street banner, the media exposure, coordination over 60 volunteers and over 1 month working at the school gym. We thank the Pepsi Co. of Scranton for the Street banner that hung on Main Street, Peckville, The Blakley Borough for putting up the Street Banner, The Olyphant Borough for putting the Banner on The Train Station, Vince Narcoonis (non-parishioner) for putting the poster/banner on the side of the School. We thank Nick Chaykowski for his Pulley that was so helpful in getting large items down from the 3 rd floor of the school. We thank the Community Bank of Olyphant, Eric Pusey from Medicap, Dr.T odd Glidewell of Czulada Chiro-

3 practic for their donations for the handsouts to the public on opening days. We thank Andy s Pizza for their food donations to the volunteers. Special thanks to the Chris Cornnel of the Mid-valley Advantage Newspaper for the front page on Friday, September 20 th along with the Scranton Times for the Photos and listing in paper, plus the local radio stations for the PSA and The Eureka Volunteer Fire Company, Olyphant, for lending us the 10 tables. As previously listed, the donations for the Raffle from parishioners, businesses and retail stores resulted in $ profit for the Raffle, with Dorothy Zinsky being our #1 ticket seller. Thanks to Cheryl Matuszewski and all the parishioners who baked and donated refreshments. Cheryl and her team took charge of the Kitchen in serving refreshments and cake with a profit of $ Special thanks to Sandra Berta for being our financial person. We could have not done it with all your donations, Thank you! All the merchandise, furniture, books, housewares, toys etc we received from parishioners, past parishioners, family and friends of St. Cyrils had made this fund raiser a very, very successful event. We had to have over 18,000 items that were all marked and merchandised. (Over the past 5 years a net profit of approximately $49, for St. Cyrils) To all of our volunteers, we could not have done all this without your help and dedication to our church. To the outstanding job from our parishioner who put in so many hours: We are so ever thankful for all the help who worked to make our rummage sale a successful fund raiser. There are always a handful of dedicated volunteers that put in endless hours for weeks and it could not be done without their help. We ask for your prayers for the successful surgery and speedy recovery of Bishop Richard Seminack of St. Nicholas Eparchy of Chicago. Bishop Richard will undergo surgery on November 11 for the removal of a malignant portion of one of his lungs. Your prayers to Our Lord, Jesus Christ, the Supreme Physician of our souls and bodies, for the restoration of the health of Bishop Richard, are requested and will be gratefully appreciated. St. Cyril s Holy Name Society St. Cyril s Holy Name Society will meet today, November 8, 2015, following the 9:00 Divine Liturgy. The new location for meetings is now in the basement of the Church. All members are encouraged to attend. LUC Meeting - Sunday, November 8, 2015 The North Anthracite Council - League of Ukrainian Catholics will meet today, November 8, 2015 at Holy Transfiguration Church, 240 Center Street, Hanover Section of Nanticoke. Moleben prayer service is scheduled for 2:30pm., business session at 3:00pm followed by reception and fellowship. Main agenda item will focus on the recently concluded National Convention which was held in Lansdale PA. Former members and new members

Cyril and Methodius Ukrainian Catholic Church in Olyphant, PA. This is the 200 th Anniversary of the birth of M. Verbytsky. We are celebrating his compositions composed for the Divine Liturgy of the Ukrainian Catholic Church. St. Mary s Church, 320 Mifflin Ave, Scranton, Pa., will host A Taste of Italy on Thursday, November 12, 2015 with seatings at 5:30 and 6:30pm. The price is only $20.00 per person and reservations can be made by calling Closing Date is November 9. The menu will start with a lovely Chicken and Spinach Tortellini and an Appetizer of Riccota Gnocci in A Taste of Italy a brown butter and sage cream sauce. The Entrée will be Chicken Scapapiello (whole chicken in bite size pieces with peppers, onions, fried potatoes, broccoli, and sweet sausage in a lemon and light brown sauce. The Cost and Blessing of Being a Believer The Sisters of St. Basil the Great, 710 Fox Chase Rd, in Fox Chase Manor, announce that on Thursday, November 12, 2015, Very Rev. Archpriest Daniel Troyan will help you to discover your divine potential for grace and your courage to face suffering, unbelief and pain. Contact or Basket Raffle donations, please contact Kelly Hierarchical Divine Liturgy with Our Patriarch All parishioners are invited to join with His Beatitude Sviatoslav, Spiritual Father of our Ukrainian Catholic Church, Metropolitan Stefan and the clergy of our Archeparchy as we honor consecrated life during a hierarchical Divine Liturgy, Sunday, November 15, 2015 beginning at 2:30 p.m. in our Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral in Philadelphia. During the Divine Liturgy, men and women religious will renew their vows, the mosaics of Blessed Josaphata, SSMI and Venerable Andrew Sheptytsky, OSBM will be blessed. After the Divine Liturgy, the bell tower with the bell from the original cathedral will also be blessed in an outdoor ceremony that will also include a prayer vigil for Ukraine. Following the services, everyone is welcome to enjoy a reception in the Cathedral Social Hall. In order for as many of the faithful from our region to attend this beautiful event, Scranton s St. Vladimir parish has chartered a Martz bus which is open to all from our sister parishes throughout the Deanery. To permit an early enough departure for a timely arrival, the bus will depart promptly from St. Vladimir s at 10:00am and for the convenience of our Luzerne County friends there will be a pickup at the Park and Ride on Route 315 just a few blocks from the entrance to the Pennsylvania Turnpike.
