1 Sunday, August 5, 2018 As the Part-time Interim Pastor of Solomon Lutheran Church I am available for matters pertaining to the mission and ministry of Solomon Lutheran Church and School. This week I will be at Solomon on Monday & Tuesday. Your Partner in Ministry, Pastor Merlin Jacobs Food Pantry~ August~ crackers & cereal and fresh produce will ONLY BE ACCEPTED ON AUGUST 21 and delivered directly to the food pantry. Baskets are in the rear of the church and in the school lobby. VELOCITY YOUTH Join us on Wednesdays from 7-9pm for our new series: "one word." We'll unpack one single word each week to find out just how much one word can change our lives. And, as always, we'll have snacks, games, hang out, good music, and more! See you there! 9th GRADE WORK DAY 9th Grade Mentors and Mentees - don't forget about our 9th Grade Work Day on Sunday, August 12th at 10:00am (after second service) in the lounge! We'll be working on our FaithFolds and our stoles. Contact Emily with questions! BULLETIN & FLOWER DONATIONS~ Bulletins are needed for the entire month of September. Flowers are needed for all of August. Please call the office or Sarah at srewoldt@solomon.pvt.k12.oh.us. Flowers purchased from a local florist, please make sure you make arrangements for delivery during office hours Monday Thursday 8 am-1pm.

2 Solomon Lutheran School Sunday, September 23 Solomon will be holding our Annual Fall Chicken BBQ on Sunday, September 23, from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Dinners will be served in Cronenwett Hall or available for drivethrough pickup outside the Cherry Street entrance. Each dinner will include a halfchicken, baked potato, seasoned corn, dinner roll, and a homemade dessert for $ Proceeds will benefit the Meyer Financial Aid Fund. In addition to purchasing/selling tickets, we ll need volunteers to set up and serve the dinner as well as bakers who are willing to donate homemade cookies, pies, cakes, or dessert bars. Tickets will be sold after services on September 1 and 8, as well as being available in the church office or from Solomon students. Thank you in advance for your help and support!
