1 AngTinig 06 NOBYEMBRE 2016 IKA-32 LINGGO SA KARANIWANG PANAHON - K BERDE +Ang Mabuting Balita ng Panginoon ayon kay San Lucas (Lu 20:27-38) Noong panahong iyon, may ilang Saduseo na lumapit kay Hesus. Ang Saduseo y hindi naniniwala na muling bubuhayin ang mga patay. Guro, anila, naglagda po si Moises ng ganitong batas para sa amin: Kung mamatay ang isang lalaki at maiwang walang anak ang kanyang asawa, ang kapatid na lalaki y dapat pakasal sa balo upang magkaanak sila para sa namatay. May pitong magkakapatid na lalaki. Nag-asawa ang panganay, at namatay na walang anak. Napakasal sa balo ang pangalawa, at namatay. Gayon din ang nangyari sa pangatlo hanggang sa pampito: isa-isang napangasawa ng babae at pawang namatay na walang anak. Sa kahulihuliha y namatay naman ang babae. Sa muling pagkabuhay, sino po sa pito ang kikilalaning asawa niya yamang napangasawa niya silang lahat? Sumagot si Hesus, Sa buhay na ito, ang mga lalaki at mga babae y nagaasawa, ngunit ang mga lalaki t babaing karapat-dapat na muling buhayin para sa kabilang buhay ay hindi na magaasawa. Hindi na sila mamamatay sapagkat matutulad sila sa mga anghel. At sila y mga anak ng Diyos yamang muli silang binuhay. Maging si Moises ay nagpapatunay na muling binubuhay ang mga patay. Sapagkat sa kanyang kasaysayan hinggil sa nagliliyab na mababang punongkahoy, ang Panginoon ay tinawag niyang Diyos ni Abraham, Diyos ni Isaac, at Diyos ni Jacob. Ngunit ang Diyos ay hindi Diyos ng mga patay kundi ng mga buhay sa kanya y buhay ang lahat. Sinabi ng ilan sa mga eskriba, Magaling ang sagot ninyo, Guro! At wala nang nangahas na magtanong sa kanya ng anuman. PAGNINILAY SA IKA-32 LINGGO SA KARANIWANG PANAHON - K (2 Macabeo 7: ; 2 Tesalonica 2:16-3:5; Lucas 20:27-38) Ni: Msgr. Nestor C. Cerbo PAKSA: ANG MGA TAPAT NA SUMUSUNOD SA MGA UTOS NG DIYOS AY MAY INAASAHANG MULING PAGKABUHAY. Ang kalendaryo ng simbahan ay nagtatapos na naman. Ito ay hudyat na malapit na naman ang Panahon ng Adbiyento na siyang simula ng bagong taon sa kalendaryo ng simbahan. -1-

2 Dahil nagtatapos na naman ang kalendaryo ng simbahan, itinutuon ng mga pagbasa sa misa ang ating pansin sa mga bagay na mangyayari sa katapusan, gaya ng pagkabuhay na muli. Magsimula po tayo sa Unang Pagbasa. Pitong magkakapatid na lalaki ang pinahuli, pinahirapan at pinapatay dahil ayaw nilang lumabag sa mg autos ng Diyos. Minatamis pa nilang mamatay kaysa sumuyaw sa mga utos ng Panginoon. Matibay ang kanilang pananampalataya sa muling pagkabuhay kung kaya sinunod nila ang mga utos ng Diyos. Ito ang pananampalataya ng pitong magkakapatid na lalaki na ating natunghayan sa Unang Pagbasa. Ito ang pananampalataya sa muling pagkabuhay. Ito ang pananampalataya na bubuhayin muli ng Diyos ang mga nangamatay kung sila ay naging tapat sa kanyang mga utos. Sabi nila, Naglagda po si Moises ng ganitong batas para sa amin: Kung mamatay ang isang lalaki at maiwang walang anak ang kanyang asawa, ang kapatid na lalaki y dapat pakasal sa balo upang magkaanak sila para sa namatay. Sabi pa nila, May pitong magkakapatid na lalaki. Nag-asawa ang panganay, at namatay na walang anak. Napakasal ang balo sa pangalawa, at namatay. Gayon din ang nangyari sa pangatlo hanggang sa pampito. Sa kahuli-huliha y namatay naman ang babae. Sa bandang huli, mayroon silang ganitong tanong, Sa muling pagkabuhay, sino po sa pito ang kikilalaning asawa niya yamang napangasawa niya silang lahat? Sa Ebanghelyo naman, ang mga Saduceo o ang mga Hudyo na hindi naniniwala na muling bubuhayin ang mga patay ay gusting ipalabas na ang pananampalataya sa muling pagkabuhay ay walang katotohanan at kakatuwa. Ginamit pa ng mga Saduseo ang batas ni Moises upang ipalabas na walang katotohanan at kakatuwa ang pananampalataya sa muling pagkabuhay. Ang sagot naman ni Hesus ay ganito: una, ang buhay dito sa lupa ay iba sa buhay sa kabila. Sa buhay sa kabila ay hindi na nag-aasawa. Kaya doon ay -2-

3 hindi mo na pinoproblema kung sino ang asawa mo dahil tayo ay matutulad sa mga anghel. Ikalawa, mayroong muling pagkabuhay dahil ang Diyos ay hindi Diyos ng mga patay kung siya ay Diyos ng mga buhay. Kaya dapat lang na ang mga namatay ay muli niya bubuhayin. Na tayo ay muling bubuhayin ng Diyos ay mangyayari lamang kung tayo ay tapat sa pagsunod sa kanyang mga utos. Subalit kung hindi tayo tapat sa pagsunod sa kanyang mga utos, huwag na tayong umasa na tayo ay bubuhayin muli sa pagdating ng panahon. MGA TANONG PARA SA BAHAGINAN: 1. Bahagi ba ng aking pang-arawaraw na pamumuhay ang pagsunod sa mga utos ng Diyos? 2. Binibigyan ko bang halaga ang pagsunod sa mga utos ng Diyos dahil ito ang daan tungo sa muling pagkabuhay? Cerbo, and the celebration was offered for our sick brother, Art. A good number of our ka-barangays attended the said mass. Truly it was God s plan to hold our street mass at the residence of Bro. Art and Sis. Malu. Bro. Art was very sick and he just arrived from the hospital while were holding the mass. After the mass, Msgr. Nestor anointed him with holy oil. A few hours later, Bro. Art passed away. MGA BALITANG SIMBAHAN OCTOBER 27, 2016 BEC PEDRO CRUZ STREET MASS On October 27, 2016, the 4th Thursday of the month, our BEC Street Mass was held at the residence of Bro. Art and Sis. Malu Estella at D. Santiago St.. The mass presider was Rev. Msgr. Nestor BEC Pedro Cruz condoles with the Estella Family, and we pray that Bro. Art may be granted everlasting rest and may victoriously reach his true home, united with our Creator. May -3-

OCTOBER 28, 2016 PSSDM QUARTERLY MEETING WITH MNCC Once again, PSSDM Quarterly Meeting with Msgr. Nestor C. Cerbo was held at the Parish Priest s office last October 28, 2016 at 7:00 PM, after we attended the Day 3 of the Triduum Mass in honor of Nuestra Señora del Rosario de San Juan. Volunteers present were Melinda S. Eli, Lilian D. Lee, Cynthia A. Jimeno, Monica E. Griba, Diane T. Cabubas, Cherry B. Estocado, Janet Arinzol and Fritzie S. Siapno, and the seven (7) YSLEP Scholars namely, Efren Manuel Jr., Justine Hezil Tunacao, Lolyn Paglinawan, Maryrose Ollave, Mariel C. Villocino, Rachel Anne P. Lopez and Irene May G. Acoba. Msgr. Nestor C. Cerbo acknowledged the presence of our YSLEP Scholars and Copies of the agenda to be discussed were distributed to all volunteers present. Among the topics discussed were the upcoming activities assigned to the ministry for the month of November and December On November 01 & 02, we are scheduled to sell flowers during UNDAS, however it was agreed that we could sell as early as October 31, The husband of one of our volunteers, Janet Arinzol will do the flower arrangements and our YSLEP Scholars will be the ones in charge of the selling. On November 27, volunteers from Health Program Committee will assist the CWL s Medical Diagnostic Health Project. For December 2016 activities, we agreed to continue assisting in the annual parish activities such as the Kris Kringle, Donate a Décor for the Church Christmas Tree (still to be discussed -4-

5 what kind of Décor for this year 2016) and Parish Christmas Gift-Giving Distribution. The meeting was adjourned at 9:00pm with the blessing of our kind Parish Priest, Msgr. Nestor C. Cerbo. Eli, PSSDM Coordinator OCTOBER 29, FRC LEADS IN LIVING ROSARY In commemoration of the Feast of Nuestra Señora del Rosario de San Juan and the culmination of the Rosary Month of our parish, a Living Rosary was held at 4:00 PM on Saturday, October 29, 2016 inside our parish church. lector for the activity was Kim Santos and the songs rendered during the program were provided by the Joint Choir of our parish, led by the Ministry of Liturgical Music Head, Sis. Lanie Benzon. This activity will not be successful without the help of people sent to us by the Holy Spirit, who guided me all the time. I would like to make special mention of the following: Bro. Bobot Sy, who wholeheartedly helped in the arrangement of the candles; Bro. Mar, for the sturdy steel cross; Onie, for the cross flower arrangement; Sis Catchy Ligunas and Sis Rina Mauricio, who have always been there to offer their time and talent; and of course, I would not have survived the hassles of the day without Sis. Zeny Lucea of CWL, who never left me and gave me a helping hand until the end of the activity. Spearheaded by the Worship Ministry, all 12 barangays with their Barangay Servant Leaders and BEC members participated in the activity. Msgr. Nestor Cerbo gave his welcome remarks to open the activity. Tita Mary Pacheco led the recitation of the Creed. Other participants were Tita Lou Caudal of the 20 Big Rosaries for Mary, Sis. 6 OCTOBER 29, 2016 SJBP CELEBRATES ANNUAL FEAST OF NUESTRA SEÑORA DEL ROSARIO DE SAN JUAN St. John the Baptist Parish Community celebrated the Feast Day of Nuestra Señora del Rosario de San Juan last October 29, Starting this year, the feast is to be held every last Saturday of October, in culmination of the month-long celebration of the Month of the Holy Rosary. Crusade also took place on October 29, 2016 prior the fiesta mass. The theme of this year s feast is Mercy, Family, Eucharist and Rosary. The main feast was celebrated during the 5:30 PM anticipated Sunday mass last October 29, 2016, with Msgr. Nestor Cerbo as priest presider. Before the end of the mass, Msgr. Nestor thanked everyone who took part in the meaningful celebration, most especially the Worship Ministry guided by Fr. Herbert Camacho and headed by Sis. Mila Enriquez, who played a big role in pulling through the arrangements for the triduum and fiesta masses. This year, triduum masses were offered from October 26-28, 2016 in preparation for the actual feast day, wherein different BECs and Parish Ministries, Organizations, Movements, and Commitees took turn as offerrors for each day of the triduum. Msgr. Nestor Cerbo, Fr. Herbert Camacho, and Fr. Raul Cuyag led in the Eucharistic Celebration for Day 1, 2, and 3, respectively. A Living Rosary facilitated by the Family Rosary Msgr. Nestor also urged the people of San Juan to continue strengthening their devotion to the Blessed Mother, and to pray the rosary regularly as an effective means of keeping the family together in faith, and protecting it from the evil threats that envelop our society today. Light refreshments were distributed to the parishioners after the mass. -6-

OCTOBER 30, 2016 SUNDAY COMMUNITY BAPTISM Ang HOLYween Dress Like a Saint ay sinimulan sa ating parokya noong taong Ito ay isinagawa upang himukin ang mga bata dito sa lungsod ng San Juan na magsuot ng costumes ng kanilang paboritong Santo, sa halip na magsuot ng mga nakakatakot na costumes sa tuwing sasapit ang huling linggo ng Oktubre. Sa ganitong gawain, maagang nahuhubog ang kanilang isip sa magagandang halimbawa at pamumuhay na itinuturo ng mga Banal na Santo. The Sunday Community Baptism was held last October 30, 2016, 11:00 A.M. at St. John the Baptist Parish. Rev. Msgr. Nestor C. Cerbo, Parish Priest officiated the rite. There were 8 children baptized, with names as follows: Garganira, Margarette; Guarino, Dan Angelo Lavado; Peña, Ceneth D.; Dineros, John Cedrick G.; Tee, Jamie Loise G.; Reyes, Angelyn M.; Labian, Sollana Rabosa; De Guzman, Kyla Adeline B. 8 Youth Ministry, at nilahukan ng 23 bibong mga bata na nagniningning sa kanilang mga damit pang-santo. Nagsimula ang programa sa isang pambungad na panalangin mula kay Paulo Perez, BYSL ng Isabelita. Kasunod nito ay ang pagprusisyon ng mga kalahok kasama ang kanilang mga magulang at kamag-anak na todo ang suporta sa kanila. Nanguna sa prusisyon ang mga ceriales, kasunod ang mga batang kalahok, at panghuli y ang mga drummers na mula sa Brgy. Rivera, na nagdagdag sigla sa paglakad ng mga bata. Ang pruysisyon ay lumibot mula simbahan at lumiko pa-kanan patungong F.Sevilla St., lumiko muling pa-kanan sa F. Blumentrit St., pa-kanan sa Lope K. Santos St., pa-kanan sa J.Basa St., at panghuli y lumikong pakaliwa sa Msgr. Alvarez St. hanggang makarating muli ng simbahan. Nang handa na ang lahat, ipinakilala ang mga hurado para sa HOLYween Dress Like a Saint Sila y sina Msgr. Nestor C. Cerbo, Sis. Catchy Ligunas, at Sis. Imah Maneja. Pagkabalik ng simbahan ay nagpahingang sandali ang mga kalahok upang maghanda sa susunod na bahagi ng programa, ang pagpapakilala sa kanilang Santong ginagampanan. Dumalo rin ang mga kalahok sa 4:00 PM Children s Mass, kung saan inanunsyo ni Juno Ligunos, BEC Youth Coordinator, kasama si Msgr. Nestor Cerbo ang ang mga nagwagi bago matapos ang misa. OCTOBER 30, 2016 BEC CDJ HOLDS TO BEING BEST SUNDAY CHILDREN S MASS ATTENDANCE BEC Corazon de Jesus was still the Best in Attendance at Sunday Children s Mass held last October 30, 2016, 4:00 P.M. at St. John the Baptist Parish. That Sunday Children s Mass was marked by the special presence of the HOLYween participants. They joined the entrance procession of the mass. The Eucharistic Celebration was presided by Rev. Msgr. Nestor C. Cerbo, Parish Priest. Total of 130 kids registered during the mass. The Top 3 BECs Best in Attendance were: Top 1 BEC Corazon de Jesus (34 kids) Top 2 BEC Batis (29 kids) Top 3 BEC Balong Bato & BEC Tibagan (21 kids each) The next Sunday Children s Mass will be on November 06, 2016 at 4:00 P.M. Let us all encourage our children to attend the mass every Sunday. OCTOBER 30, 2016 SUNDAY YOUTH MASS Ang Sunday Youth Mass ay ginanap muli noong ika-30 ng Oktubre 2016 sa ganap na ika-6:00 ng gabi sa SJBP. Ang banal na misa ay pinangunahan ng kanilang priest-in-charge at parish priest na si Rev. Msgr. Nestor C. Cerbo. Ang banal na misa para sa mga kabataan ay sinimulan sa isang pambungad na awit sa pamumuno ng SJBP Youth Choir, kasabay ang ating -9-

10 SJBP Youth Animators, na nagbigay kulay sa misa sa pamamagitan ng kanilang pagsayaw. Ang homiliya ni Msgr. Nestor para sa ika-31 Linggo sa Karaniwang Panahon ay may paksang, ANG PAGBABAYAD-PURI AY NAGDADALA NG KALIGTASAN. Hinimok niya ang mga kabataan at mga nagsimba na tularan si Zaqueo at magbayad-puri sa lahat ng mga nagawa nilang kasalanan para ipakita ang tunay pagsisisi at mapasakanila ang kapatawaran at kaligtasan mula sa mahabaging Panginoon. OCTOBER 24 TO NOVEMBER 02, 2016 REMEBERING OUR FAITHFUL DEPARTED Last October 24 to November 1, 2016, members of SJBP s Apostleship of Prayer led in the novena for the faithful departed, which was read every after Post Communion Prayer in all the masses. The priest presider simultaneously blesses the mass offerings collected in the tumba situated by the altar, while the prayer is recited by the congregation. Natapos ang Banal na misa sa isang pangwakas na awit na kung saan muli ay sinabayan ng sayaw ng ating SJBP Youth Animators ang awit na Tell the World of His Love. Ang susunod na Sunday Youth Mass ay sa darating ng ika-6 ng Nobyembre 2016 sa ganap na ika-6:00 ng gabi. Inaanyayahan po ang lahat ng kabataan na dumalo sa ating Youth Mass tuwing Linggo. As a Church Militant (the living who continues to journey here on earth), it is our duty to help the Church Suffering (the faithful departed, who are still in purgatory) through our prayers, so that they may be cleansed from their sins -10-

11 and may be granted everlasting rest in the Kingdom of God and join the company of Saints in the Church Triumphant (those who have experienced the beatific vision [seeing God face to face]). that day, the celebration of the mass was participated by the school s principal, Mr. Lloyd Tulaylay, AND the different grade level teachers and students who excitedly welcomed Jesus in their school. On November 2, 2016, we commemorated the Faithful Departed in all the masses, and the crypt located at lower ground floor of the parish was blessed after each mass. Likewise, the 5:15 PM mass of that day was especially intended for the faithful departed, whose remains lay in the parish columbary. The Catholic Faithful were also reminded of our doctrine on visiting cemeteries/oratories. Those who will do such within the octave (8 days) of All Souls Day will gain plenary indulgence by praying the Creed, Our Father, Hail Mary, and Glory Be in every visit. Let us continue praying for our departed brothers and sisters everyday, especially those who are least remembered. NOVEMBER 02, 2016 SALAPAN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL HOLDS FIRST WEDNESDAY MASS As the semestral break came to an end, we once again start the school days in Salapan Elementary School with our First Wednesday Mass. The Eucharistic celebration was presided by Msgr. Nestor C. Cerbo. Although many of the students were absent We remember the souls of our dearly beloved loved ones as we all offered them prayers in the mass. Msgr. Nestor Cerbo clearly gave his reflections about the readings and the Gospel for the day. He reminded the children that we are all called to be good and that we all have souls. We must do good and follow Jesus to be able to be with Him in heaven someday. Msgr. Nestor ang mga mag-aaral na gamitin ang kanilang talino hindi sa paggawa ng masaya o sa pandaraya tulad ng ginawa ng mandarayang katiwala sa Ebanghelyo kundi gamitin ito sa paggawa ng mabuti. 13 NOVEMBER 04, 2016 COORDINATION MEETING OF CONSTRUCTION TEAM FOR SJBP DEVELOPMENT 2016 The Coordination Meeting of the Construction Team for SJBP Development 2019 was held on Friday, November 04, 2016, at 3:00 P.M., in the Parish Priest Office. It was graced by Engr. Roger Antonio, the Vice President of SPCastro, Inc., the Project Manager for SJBP Development Msgr. Nestor C. Cerbo felt privileged for Engr. Antonio s attendance at the meeting. Msgr. Nestor informed the Construction Team that the Adoration Chapel Skylight Roof, the Candle Garden Skylight Roof should be completed by the end of November 2016 and the installation of Bell Tower Carillon Bells should be already be operational by December 15 in time for the Simba sa Gabi and Simbang Gabi. and from Auditing Recommendations of his previous assignments. Among the policies are: 1. There should at least be three counters and among them is the Cashier of the Parish who who oversees the counting and checks its accuracy and if he is not available because it is not yet office hours, the Parish Priest can designate another trustworthy Parish Staff; 2. Mass Collections should be counted immediately; 3. The Bookkeeper should keep the books and not count the money. NOVEMBER 04, MEETING WITH MBG AS THE NEW SUNDAY MASS COLLECTIONS COUNTERS Meeting with the Mother Butler Guild as the new Sunday Mass Collections Counters was held on Friday, November 04, 2016, at 5:00 P.M., in the Parish Priest Office. Msgr. This is what Light of Jesus preacher Bo Sanchez told more than 1,000 parents, educators, and homeschoolers at the Philippine Homeschool Conference 2016 on Oct. 23. Even child-rearing has its stages where parents learn to wear different hats [Over-parenting] happens when you don t change parenting hats, he said, noting that a parent has 3 hats that are crucial at certain stages of a child s life, depending on the child s skills and autonomy. According to Sanchez, the 3 hats are: the controlling hat the coaching hat, and the consultant hat Be the culture He said the controlling hat is used at the earliest phase in a child s life when he or she learns the basics through nonnegotiable rules, rituals, and discipline. Kids want you to be in control. Kids need structure. [But] you need to outgrow the controlling hat for your sake and for the sake of your kids or the wings won t come out. Sanchez quoted Deuteronomy 6:7 to emphasize the need to create an immersive environment for children, one that allows good behavior and values to be about something more than than just prohibition. You need to create an immersive environment It s not enough to lecture them and tell them, This is what you need to do, go do it, he added. -14-

15 The so-called immersive environment is based largely, said Sanchez, on parents character and modelling to their children. You have to build a family culture. You ve got to be the culture. If you have to build a culture that s the only way. If you want a culture of kindness, if you want a culture of loving God, if you want a culture of compassion, of generosity, you have to be that culture. Coach vs. consultant The coaching hat, on the other hand, usually comes out when when the child is 10-years old, said Sanchez, noting that the coaching hat s main message is trust. He explained: You have to take off the controlling hat, and you have to wear your coaching hat. And the main message [of the coaching hat] is: I trust you to make the right decision. Lastly, the consultant hat is more appropriate for when a son or daughter is already working, Sanchez said, especially when he or she is married. The bestselling Catholic author pointed out the main difference between a coach and a consultant by saying a consultant will speak only when hired. Learning to let go According to him, parents need to accept the fact that all children will reach a point of autonomy, one when parents advice or words of wisdom won t always be seen as Gospel truth. At a certain point you just have to say I ve done enough There are times you have to let go at a certain point. The afternoon sessions featured workshops on the benefits of reading and writing, how to start homeschooling one s kids, and the basics of interestled homeschooling, among others. Organized by the Homeschool Association of the Philippine Islands (HAPI), the conference carried the theme From Roots to Wings: Homeschooling through the stages.
