ADMINISTRATION OF THE SACRAMENTS Baptisms: On any available Sunday during the 11:00 AM (Italian), 12:30 PM (English) & 7:00 PM (Portuguese) Masses. Please, contact the rectory at least one month prior to desired date. Confessions: Saturdays 5:00 to 5:45 PM, or during the week by appointment. Marriages: Please contact the rectory at least six months prior to desired wedding date. Sacrament of the Sick: If you are hospitalized or unable to come to Church for health reasons and would like to be visited by a priest for Confession, Communion, or Anointing of the Sick, please call the rectory. Religious Education Program (CCD): For children 1 st to 8 th grades who are not attending Catholic School. Classes are held on Sundays from September to May at 11:30 AM, with attendance to the 12:30 PM Family Confirmation: Teens will receive the Sacrament of Confirmation on 8 th grade. All parishioners are invited to attend. SACRAMENT OF CONFIRMATION The Confirmation will be on Saturday, April 25 at 3:00 PM, by Most Rev. Bernard Hebda, D.D., Coadjutor Archbishop of Newark. RCIA CLASS (Adult Religious Education) will receive their First Holy Communion and Confirmation on Sunday, April 26 at the 9:30 AM FIRST HOLY COMMUNION Our 2nd grade CCD class will receive their First Holy Communion on Sunday, May 3 at the 12:30 PM SPRING AUCTION 2015 will be held on Saturday, May 23 from 7:00 to 11:00 PM in Church Hall. We are collecting items to be auctioned. Please bring your donations to the rectory s office. All donations to the church are tax deductible. Shoprite Cards are available after each Sunday Mass or during the week at the office. Our church will get 5% of what you spend. Remember our deceased: Joseph Nicoletti (3/31) and Tommaso Morin (4/5) DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY OF ONE HEART AND MIND Reading about the faith of the early Christian believers can be a r e a l inspiration to those of us who have been Christians for a long time, as well as for those who are newly baptized. Can you imagine people of this world being "of one heart and mind" as was the first community of believers? Today's First Letter of John seems to hold the key to how this can be accomplished. Keeping God's commandments and loving all of God's children seems to be the start of being "of one heart and mind." We live in a world that stresses differences-- differences among religions, among races, between genders, and among economic classes. 4 COME TO THE FEAST OF THE DIVINE MERCY Sunday, April 12 In the year 2000 after many years of study by the Catholic Church, Pope John Paul II fulfilled the will of Christ and officially established that Feast of Divine Mercy and named it Divine Mercy Sunday. What is so special about this new Feast of Divine Mercy you might ask? It is the promise of the total forgiveness of all sins and punishment for anyone that would go to Confession and receive Communion on that very special Feast of Divine Mercy! Why would Jesus offer us something so great right now? Jesus told St. Faustina that she was to prepare the world for His Second Coming and He wants to pour out His Mercy before He comes again as the Just Judge and as a last hope of salvation. We will celebrate the feast of the DIVINE MERCY at 3:00PM with the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, prayer and the chaplet in English, Italian and Portuguese Everyone is invited to participate If you, or someone you know, are sick and homebound and desire to receive the Sacraments of Reconciliation (Confession) and Holy Communion in your home; or would like to add someone s name to our prayer list, please contact the rectory office. 50 th Anniversary Dinner Dance & Journal We are reaching a very important milestone 50 years of St. Nicholas Parish s largest fundraiser event. Our 8th Grade teenagers will receive the Sacrament of Confirmation on Saturday, April 25 at 3:00 PM by Coadjutor Archbishop Bernard Hebda.
