ADMINISTRATION OF THE SACRAMENTS Baptisms: On any available Sunday during the 11:00 AM (Italian), 9:30 AM or 12:30 PM (English) & 7:00 PM (Portuguese) Masses. Please, contact the rectory at least one month prior to desired date. Confessions: Saturdays 4:00 to 4:45 PM, or during the week by appointment. Marriages: Please contact the rectory at least six months prior to desired wedding date. Sacrament of the Sick: If you are hospitalized or unable to come to Church for health reasons and would like to be visited by a priest for Confession, Communion, or Anointing of the Sick, please call the rectory. Religious Education Program (CCD): For children 1 st to 8 th grades who are not attending Catholic School. Classes are held on Sundays from September to May at 11:30 AM, with attendance to the 12:30 PM Family Mass. Confirmation: Teens will receive the Sacrament of Confirmation on 8 th grade. They will attend classes at 11:30 AM from September to December; and from January to April classes will start at 11:00 AM in the church hall, with attendance to the 12:30 PM Family Mass. Please sign up in the time schedule at the entrance of the church to commit to a time visiting with Jesus. HOLY ROSARY SOCIETY will meet this Tuesday, February 26 at 7:30 PM in the Blessed Mother s room. ST. JOSEPH S FEAST - We will celebrate a Mass in honor of St. Joseph on Saturday, March 16 at 5:00 PM. After the Mass we will hold the Poor Man s Dinner in the church hall. On Sunday, March 17 we will hold the St. Joseph s Table with sale of HOT ZEPPOLE, homemade bread, cakes and Italian goods from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. This fundraiser event will benefit the Vocationist Missions around the world. Tickets for the dinner is $30.00 children 7-12 $15.00 Tickets on sale after Masses or during the week in the rectory office SHARING GOD S BLESSINGS ANNUAL APPEAL - If you haven t made your pledge to the annual appeal yet, please use the envelopes available at the entrance of the church. CONFIRMATION Our 8 th grade teenagers will receive the Sacrament of Confirmation on Saturday, April 27 at the 5:00 PM Vigil Mass by Bishop John Flesey. ST. NICHOLAS FEAST - We are creating a committee to organize the procession, Mass and celebration of the feast of St. Nicholas in May. Those interested in participating, please contact the rectory office. Save the date: DEACON THOMAS WILL BE ORDAINED A PRIEST on Saturday, June 22 at the 5:00 PM Vigil Mass, followed by reception in church hall. All are invited. Please call the office to register 7 th SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME DO NO HARM We listen quite a while before we get to the punch line of the first reading today: even though it would be an easy thing to do, David will not harm the anointed one of the Lord. We, of course, know that Jesus is the Messiah, the anointed one of God, but the Bible uses this term for many different people. It is scripture s way of indicating who has been chosen by God for a special place and mission in salvation history. In today s Gospel, Jesus presents a greatly enlarged list of those who, as children of God, we should not harm, but love instead: our enemies, those who curse us or do us harm, those who owe us money, the ungrateful, the wicked. The point of Jesus teaching is not to encourage these kinds of behaviors in others, but rather to form us in the image of our heavenly Father by increasing our opportunities to love unconditionally, expecting no return; to be merciful and forgiving, even when it would be easier not to. Our 2019 parish goal is $12, The Annual Appeal provides the poor with food, shelter and clothing; makes religious education, spiritual guidance and CYO programs available for the young: insures the future leadership of the Church with seminarian education and training; and most important, brings Christ s Good News to the people of the Archdiocese. ANTHONY S GROUP The group of devotion to St. Anthony invites all to participate in a moment of prayer and adoration. They meet once a month on the first Tuesday at 7:30 PM in church. LEGION OF MARY The Legion of Mary meets every Tuesday at 9:00 AM in the Blessed Mother s room in the rectory. All are welcome to attend the meetings.
