4 PRAY FOR CATECHUMENS AND CANDIDATES The Lenten journey is especially important because it serves as a period of final preparation for catechumens anticipating Baptism, First Communion and Confirmation and for candidates anticipating celebrating their First Communion and/or Confirmation and being welcomed into full communion of the Church. Many parishes and schools in our Archdiocese desire to do incredible ministry but simply can t afford it, instead using donations to keep lights on, making critical repairs, and paying insurance for employees. The Battered Child Syndrome may indicate abuse Battered Child Syndrome is a clinical term professionals use to refer to children experiencing recurrent physical abuse from a caretaker over an extended period of time. Signs of a battered child can include repeated bruising or bruising in unusual places, broken bones, scratches, and other injuries. Even if you do not see physical abuse happening, such injuries may be signs that a child is in danger in his or her own home. You should report any suspicious injuries or symptoms to a local child protective services agency that report could save a child s life.
