3 St. Michael s R.C. Church Page 3 SECOND COLLECTION Today's Second Collection is for the ongoing "Repair and Renovation" of our Church Buildings. The "R & R" Collections will be helping us to pay for the Renovation of the Pope Francis Center. We ask all parishioners to be as generous as possible and thank everyone for their sacrifices and generous support! SAVE THE DATE Our next PARISH COUNCIL meeting will be held in the Chapel at 1:30 PM TODAY! All are invited! HEALING MASS We will have our Healing Mass (in Spanish) this month on Monday, March 25th at 7:00PM instead of 6:30PM. All are invited! CHANGE IN MASS TIME TUESDAY, MARCH 26TH The Mass on Tuesday evening, March 26th, will be at 6:30pm (instead of 7:30pm). Following the Mass, we will pray the (Bilingual) Stations of the Cross, with the Adults preparing to receive the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Communion, and Confirmation) at the Easter Vigil. 24 HOURS FOR THE LORD Each year during the past four Lenten seasons, our Holy Father, Pope Francis, has asked us to participate in 24 Hours for the Lord, an initiative that calls us to reflect on God's mercy and love. This year's celebration will take place on Friday and Saturday, March 29 and 30. We will partake in these 24 Hours for the Lord as a parish, encouraging parishioners to gather as one community of faith! MORE INFORMATION WILL BE MADE AVAILABLE IN NEXT WEEK S BULLETIN! SCHOOL OF RELIGION NEWS Confirmation Candidate & Sponsor Meeting There will be a meeting for all Confirmation Candidates and their sponsors in the Church at 6:30pm THIS Thursday, March 21st. Attendance will be taken. First Communion Practice The first of three practices for children receiving their first communion this year will take place in the Church THIS Saturday, March 23rd from 12:30pm-2:30pm. Attendance will be taken. Communion Parent s Meeting There will be a meeting for parents with children that will receive their first communion this year NEXT Sunday, March 24th at 8:30am in Spanish and 10:30am in English. The meeting will be in the School Auditorium. Attendance will be taken. GOOD FRIDAY - VIA CRUCIS VOLUNTEER PRACTICE There will be a meeting/practice TODAY and every Sunday at 3:00pm in the church for anyone who wishes to volunteer for the Good Friday dramatization of the Stations of the Cross. ALL PARISHIONERS ARE INVITED TO PARTICIPATE! LENT STATIONS OF THE CROSS DURING LENT The Stations of the Cross will be prayed in the Church on Fridays during Lent after the 9:00am English Mass and at 7:00pm before the Spanish Mass. CONFESSIONS DURING LENT During Lent, the Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession) will be available on Saturdays from 4:00pm - 5:00pm AND 7:00pm - 8:00pm in the Church. Parishioners may also call the Rectory Office ( ) during Office Hours (9:00am-12:00 Noon and 1:00pm- 9:00pm, Monday through Friday AND Saturdays 4:00pm) to ask if a priest will be available and to make an appointment to come and see him at a time convenient for you. Después de la misa, rezaremos las Estaciones de la Cruz (bilingües), con los adultos que se preparan para recibir los Sacramentos de Iniciación (Bautismo, Comunión y Confirmación) en la Vigilia Pascual. 24 HORAS PARA EL SEÑOR Cada año, durante las últimas cuatro temporadas de Cuaresma, nuestro Santo Padre, el Papa Francisco, nos ha pedido que participemos en las "24 horas para el Señor", una iniciativa que nos llama a reflexionar sobre la misericordia y el amor de Dios. La celebración de este año se llevará a cabo el viernes y sábado 29 y 30 de marzo. Church Page 5 St. Michael s Church / La Iglesia de San Miguel Each Year the ACA Supports to work of our Diocese, specifically by supporting the Ministries of: Catholic Charities Vocation Support Catholic Education Migration Services Retired Priests Captaincies of Hospitals Colleges, Prisons and other works of Mercy Evangelization The 2019 Annual Catholic Appeal has begun!! During the next few weeks, many parishioners and those who have made a Pledge in the past will be receiving materials in the mail. We encourage you to make a pledge or a gift as soon as possible by returning the Pledge Form by mail, by bringing it to the Rectory Office or by dropping it in the Collection Basket at Mass. Our goal for this year s ACA is $41,396. All money donated above the goal will be returned to the parish to help defray the cost of parish expenses and projects! Thank you for your generosity!
