St. Veronica 5:30PM Mass with Ashes Praying the Rosary for Peace Tuesday Evenings at 6.30 pm During Lent at Queen of Peace Church We pray the Rosary, accompanied by scripture readings, music [psalms & songs] and Decade prayers. We pray for: World peace, Peace within our country and communities, Peace of mind and heart, and for good health of all. Everyone is welcome to attend and join in. Rosaries and booklets will be available for use and to take home for our homebound friends and family. The Rosary for Peace is done in honor of Father Healey. The Rosary for Peace prayer service was started by Reverend William Healey in 2002 at Blessed Virgin Mary, Queen of Peace Church on Tuesdays during Lent and has continued each year since. Our first and primary function is to pray the Rosary as our Lady had requested on numerous occasions. We also sponsor various functions and activities for our parish family. We ask everyone to consider joining us and help our group grow. March: Divine Mercy novena Mar/Apr: Contribute to the Alter Easter flowers April: Divine Mercy Mass Celebration May: May Crowning Communion and Confirmation Candidates Breakfast September: Baby Shower October: Blessing of the Animals (Feast of St. Francis of Assisi) Ocktoberfest High Tea Recruitment Family Halloween Party November: Patriotic Rosary- a celebration of Veterans December: Contribute to the Alter Christmas flowers Participated in the Feed the Hungry event DIVINE MERCY DEVOTION The Divine Mercy Novena consists of nine days praying the Chaplet which usually takes about 15 minutes. It will start on Good Friday after the Veneration of service, and continue each week day after the 9am service. Note on Easter Sunday, which is day 3, it will be said after the 8:30am Mass. The Novena will end on Saturday, April 27 th. On April 8, Divine Mercy Sunday, there will be a special Mercy Sunday Liturgy at 2pm which will fulfill the Sunday Mass obligation. Everyone is invited to attend. After the Mass the Altar & Rosary Society will serve refreshments in the Parish Hall. EASTER FLOWERS Every year we celebrate the eternal lives of our past family members with Easter flowers on the Altar in our Churches. If you would like to remember a loved one, please place your name, your contribution and the name(s) of your loved one(s) on the Easter Flower Offering envelope that can be found at the entrances of the churches. Montrose, D.D.), with a short reflection by a priest or deacon present, then we recite the Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
