3 EASTER FLOWERS Every year we celebrate the eternal lives of our past family members with Easter flowers on the Altar in our Churches. If you would like to remember a loved one, please place your name, your contribution and the name(s) of your loved one(s) on the Easter Flower Offering envelope that can be found at the entrances of the churches. The Memorial list will be included with the bulletin the weekend of April 21, Please place your envelope in the collection basket by April 1, 2019 Little Sisters of the Poor to Host This, That, and the Other Thing Sale The Little Sisters of the Poor will host a This, That, and the Other Thing sale from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday for the next month at Holy Family Residence, 2500 Adams Ave., Scranton. The sale includes small furniture, desks, beds, lockers, decorations and much more. There will be different items every week. All remaining items from the convent must go. Altar & Rosary News We meet every month on the second Sunday after the 11:30 AM Mass in the Church Hall. Our first and primary function is to pray the Rosary as our Lady had requested on numerous occasions. We also sponsor various functions and activities for our parish family. We ask everyone to consider joining us and help our group grow. All items must be taken on the day they are purchased. Delivery is not available. 4 Published Intentions There are certain intentions that are available, for a week at a time. People may do this, so as a parish family we may pray for those persons who may need it, who have helped others, or just because we wish them prayers. Candles (The Tabernacle or The Blessed Mother) may be lit in memory of a loved one or for special occasions, healing, or thanksgiving. Flowers for the Altar for either church may be purchased for the same purpose. Prayer Box One prayer box is to pray for people that are ill or just need the prayers. There is another box so we may pray for those who have just been baptized, have just joined the parish, newly married, or have recently passed on. If you wish to reserve a candle, purchase flowers for either Altar or put a name of a loved one in a prayer box, please contact the Rectory Office parishsecretary@queenofpeacehawley.com Phone: Around the Parish Baptisms -Take place on Saturday s at 1:00PM. If this is your first child, you will be RCIA Reconciliation Matrimony Holy Orders & Religious Life Visiting the Sick & Homebound -For any Catholic who has not received Confirmation, or you wish to become Catholic. -There are opportunities every weekend. 4-5PM at Queen of Peace and before each weekend Mass at St. Veronica. -At least one person needs to be a practicing Catholic. Please call the Rectory before you reserve the reception hall, at least 9 months before your Wedding date. -Serve God as a priest, deacon or religious. Please call the Diocese of Scranton for more information. -If you are confined to home or sick, please call the Rectory office for a visit from a Eucharistic Minister to bring you the Most Blessed Sacrament or to be visited by a priest. I am asking all our parishioners to take the following precautions to help mitigate the effects of the influenza (flu). Parishioners are asked not to shake hands with the Priest, Deacons, Altar Servers and Eucharistic before/after Mass. Parishioners are asked to share the Sign of Peace with fellow parishioners without touching hands or kissing. This can be done with meaningful eye contact, smiles, and a bow of the head in reverence to one another or the Holy Wave. Thank you, Father Beck 4
